THE SUICIDE SQUAD Cast And Crew Poster Teases A Bloody End For The Members Of James Gunn's Task Force X

James Gunn's The Suicide Squad looks set to live up to its title by killing off the members of Task Force X, and the cast and crew poster for the DC Comics adaptation emphasises that. Check it out...

While it won't arrive in theaters until next year, there's a lot of excitement surrounding James Gunn's plans for The Suicide Squad. The filmmaker is clearly embracing the source material, and there are even rumours that one iteration of Task Force X could be dead and gone by the first act!

That remains to be seen, but Gunn has now taken to Instagram to share the bloody cast and crew poster for his DC Comics adaptation. Designed by John Sloboda to mark the end of production, this won't be used in the reboot/sequel's marketing campaign, but it does drop some interesting hints about what's to come.

As you can see, Task Force X's weapons are sitting in a pool of blood. Most of them are generic, but we do see Harley Quinn's mallet and Captain Boomerang's boomerang.

That shouldn't be taken as a sign their days are numbered as this is just a cool piece of imagery shared exclusively with those who worked on The Suicide Squad. However, if Idris Elba is indeed playing Vigilante in the film, then he'll more than likely make good use of all those guns!

@BlackBeltJones - I was looking for some 80s action scenes, and somehow came across my new favorite death scene ever so I have you to thank for it.

I didn't hate the first one even with all the changes and interference, I was entertained for what it was. I'm sure this one will be big loads of fun.

Love the logo. Right of out the comics.

Let's hope Gunn can do something with these characters.

I have no idea how to predict the box office for DC movies. Shazam and Birds of Prey barely make any money and Aquaman makes more than any Spider-Man movie. They're all over the board.

@blackandyellow - None of those movies earned what they deserved. Shazam deserved to earn more, Aquaman deserved to earn less, BoP didn't deserve to exist, etc.

BOP or Harley Quinn or whatever it's called has made only 190 million worldwide. Can we offically call it a flop now? Also, do you guys think it's poor performance will effect this soft reboot of SS?

Spidey91 - 3/4/2020, 5:15 PM
@Feralwookiee - most likely not, as long they don't screw the pooch with the promo campaign like they did with BoP.

@Feralwookiee - what is a flop to you? It made double its budget +20 million... I’d say disappointment... but definitely not a flop. But I think of a flop as a film that doesn’t even make its budget back (let alone marketing budget)...

StupidFlanders - 3/4/2020, 8:13 PM
@CapnMurphy2021 - you are forgetting the cost of marketing.
It is still a VERY long way away from breaking even

@StupidFlanders - double the budget... that’s a fair equation for marketing+budget. In that case... it’s 20million ahead🤷🏻‍♂️
soberchimera
soberchimera - 3/5/2020, 6:05 AM
@CapnMurphy2021 - It needed $250 million to break even, its a flop, move on.

Truth be told, it'd be pretty cool if they all died by the end. You can make a great emotional story out of that, regardless of how much humor and fun you have along the way.
