Warner Bros. has given Zack Snyder's Justice League the green light, and not only is the filmmaker now able to finish his original vision, he's added to it thanks to a series of expensive reshoots.
That's an opportunity Suicide Squad helmer David Ayer can only dream of right now. Over the weekend, he talked more about how his take on Task Force X was drastically altered by studio interference, but has now debunked reports that there are plans in place to #ReleaseTheAyerCut on HBO Max.
As you can see below, a fan asked whether that's in the works after sharing a link to a story that claims, "David Ayer’s cut of Suicide Squad is coming to HBO Max. Word around here is it’ll be released near the end of 2021 and will feature a lot more of Jared’s Joker and Robbie’s Harley Quinn."
That sounds good on the surface, but Ayer was quick to respond with a simple, "Not true."
While Snyder continuously teased the "Snyder Cut" on Vero with various behind the scenes images, he didn't attack Warner Bros. the way Ayer has on social media about what the studio did to his vision. If Zack Snyder's Justice League is a huge hit, then David Ayer's Suicide Squad could follow. We'll see.
