Comic artist Alex Ross has made some pretty iconic superhero artwork, and his take on one of the greatest covers of all time certainly does not disappoint. Check out this amazing lithograph past the jump!
In celebration of Superman's 80th anniversary and the 1000th issue of DC's Action Comics, we've seen some pretty incredible commemorative art lately.
However, a lithograph from Alex Ross' team-up with SYFY WIRE might be the best yet. Ross, who is famous for his photorealistic take on superheroes, tried his hand at recreating the iconic cover of Superman's first comic book appearance: Action Comics #1.
Check it out below:
This lithograph captures the scene of the original cover, but the dark blue colors completely change the mood. Superman's original suit is left mostly untouched, even though it looks like his red boots have been swapped out.
Ross has drawn Superman many times before and was a big influence on how Warner Bros. marketed Justice League.
The litho is titled "More Powerful Than A Locomotive," and is the first piece of work from Alex Ross Art's collaboration with SYFY WIRE. Fans who want their own print can join the waitlist now.
