Cavill is a good actor but this makes him look either like a bland Superman or this movie is going to be really bland judging by the two clips released. What's the excitement about besides being a Superman reboot and a potential start of the DCCU?

The entire was shot with handheld cameras.

I was wonder when they were going to tease Cavill's acting instead of the trailers of him yelling and distress but I think he is going to really knock it out the park in this movie!

@Batmaniac: I've never said "what's so exciting about a DCCU?" I'm glad they're possibly getting a DCCU, Marvel needs some good, friendly competition. My biggest problem with this movie is Zack Snyder. It has nothing to do with envy. I would love to see a DCCU despite not being a DC fan. Shit, Batman needs a break anyways. Plus, I just can't get behind most of what the movie is selling. It's not just Snyder and I'm not hating on it due to my loyalty to Marvel. I swear to you it's not. In fact, every time I do get excited for the movie (which I have gotten excited for this movie a couple different times) something always brings that excitement down. I just think the excitement for Man of Steel is making people think its the best comicbook movie ever. Cause it's a Snyder movie, I have very little faith. I've said that since day one. I can't say much cause I get amped up for Marvel movies obviously. But still. Again, I don't mean to come off as bias or envious or anything. I just don't have faith in the movie cause of who's helming it and these clips just come off bland and rub me the wrong way. Which again, sucks cause I was actually getting excited for this movie again believe it or not.

@Batmaniac: yes, I sounded stupid for saying I felt First Class is a superior movie but, I still think it. Yes, I was excited for this movie a couple times once the three minute trailer hit. But something always kills the excitement. You seriously gonna throw James Gunn and the Russos in my face? I know James Gunn hasn't directed a good movie but he wrote Snyder's debut film therefore, throwing him in my face is invalid. GOTG has me excited cause of the cast and certain characters being in it. Russos are tv directors. Both Russos and Gunn really haven't been given a chance. Same goes for Joss Whedon. The directors Marvel has chosen, l from The Avengers to Guardians of the Galaxy are people who haven't been given the chance to showcase their talents to their fullest, in my opinion. So, you throwing them at me is completely unfair towards them.

Man of Steel has yet to come out so, people to say its the best comicbook movie ever is going I bug me and to an extent, you're right bout the idea bugs me. It bugs me cause I'll never accept or acknowledge a Zack Snyder movie as the best comicbook movie ever. When I do see Man of Steel, I'll go in with an open mind. If I enjoy it, I'll write an article about how I was wrong completely about the movie. But, that's when I see it. Which probably won't be for a couple months.

Crossbones - Dont bother with your article. No one cares what you think because were aware of your bias. Just go watch the Avengers again, or X-Men FC, or go to a Marvel board where they're gleaming the future greatness of Thor TDW, or GOTG.

Your bias against Zack Snyder is also completely misguided. Zack has in fact made some good movies. Watchmen, 300, Dawn of the Dead. He's got a fantastic eye for action, he knows how to frame a shot that's highly stylized. While I will admit his movies in the past have been neutered in terms of emotion,or character development, by all accounts this seems to have changed with MOS.

He's got a cast thats more impressive than any CBM to date. I think the group in this movie has more academy award wins, and nominations than any movie in recent history. A story by David S Goyer who showed his chops on TDK trilogy, and a producer in Chris Nolan that hand picked Zack Snyder for the movie because he knew he was right for it.

All of this combined, I think MOS will be the best movie of the summer. Will it be the best CBM ever?...remains to be seen. The Dark Knight will be tough to beat.

@Batmaniac: I've admitted that Gunn hasn't made a good movie and as I said, the Russos have done Community and Arrested Development. Despite your logic, Marvel hasn't picked a bad director since becoming its own studio. Do you need to look at the box office total for the franchise cause I'm pretty sure they're at 5 billion, if not then their damn close. Shit, Spider-Man in four movies has made more than Superman as a franchise. I don't have a twisted loyalty to Marvel. My opinion on Zack Snyder is purely due to Dawn of the Dead an Watchmen are his only good movies.

300, Sucker Punch and Legend of the Guardians all suck donkey dick. If not worse. He's style over substance. Always has been after finding success in Dawn of the Dead. I'd be surprised if Man of Steel is as good as many say it is. If he makes me like Man of Steel then good for him, I'll still think he's not good at his job. I'll laugh if he does direct Justice League. The fact everyone praises him on this site cause of Watchmen is laughable. As I said in the review for Man of Steel. I'd blow my brains out with a shotgun if Snyder would've ever directed a Marvel movie. They have made bad movies (not Marvel Studios) but Snyder would've made the worse. They're not style over substance but, he would've definitely [frick]ed Marvel over. I respect Superman for what he stands for but, this as I said has nothin to do with my dislike towards anything DC related and my loyalty to Marvel. This has been all Zack Snyder since day one. Believe it or don't. You don't know me therefore you can't call me out on my opinions cause you don't know how I work.

The first two clips are dialogue based scenes. That's good because it means that action won't be what the movie is about.

This movie is going to be great. It won't be as great as the Dark Knight trilogy in terms of story, and it won't be as great as the Avengers in terms of characterization.

But I think this is going to be the movie that makes Superman cool again. And it will be a great CBM to remember.

This is too funny... I think "Crossbones" needs to stop posting. You really need to listen how stupid you sound and reading how "Batmaniac" pointed you out is damn funny... You should really listen to the Batman as he knows what he's talking about. Go and watch your Marvel movies. BTW I'm also a huge Marvel guy but Superman is my Favorite Super hero.

Besides Ironman 1 Marvel hasn't made any amazing movie like WB/DC has with TDK. Avenger was good but was just action and very little store to it. I don't count Spiderman as it's Sony Studio own. Until we see how MOS is TDK is still the best comicbook movie ever. MOS has the chance to be the best all times knowing that Superman is recognize world wide even the \S/ shield is recognizable only second to the Christian around the world.

@Batmaniac: cause even if Man of Steel is good, it doesn't mean he's good at what he does. He has made three major shitfests. Almost as bad as Alfonso Cuaron.

Kalelhawj: You people don't seem to get it. I do like non Marvel comic based movies too. But, it's whatever. Believe what you want.

The Dark Knight doesn't count as a comicbook movie to me cause it doesn't embrace and acknowledge that it's a comicbook movie. The last DC movie that isn't Superman that has tried to do that was Green Lantern and that majorly failed. The Avengers is the best COMICBOOK movie.

So because @Crossbones doesn't like Zack Snyder's films, you guys give him grief? I've read most of Nick's article on CBM, and while he does like Marvel more than DC, I dont't think he has doubts about Man of Steel because it is DC, I just think he doubts Zack Snyder.

@crossbones the Avengers isn't all that.. At some parts it looks like a TV show.. It's an okay movie but u can tell josh is still learning.. And to say the dark knight isn't a CBM is stupid.. The best marvel studios film was iron man. MOS probably will be better than the avengers but that doesn't mean Avengers 2 won't be better than MOS..

@Batmaniac
1. I'm not "gullible". I'm not insulting you so may please return the respect I have for you?

2. Very few people can claim to completely unbiased with comics. I'll admit I have a slight Marvel bias, but I can usually bury it to look at things objectively. It is quite obvious you have a Batman and Dc bias.

3. You are correct about Nick's bias showing when he points out a bad director (Zack Snyder)and doesn't point out bad directors like the Russo brothers.

4. Just because Nick thinks Flash is one of DC's few good characters doesn't mean he is anti DC. I don't like most of DC's but I'm not anti DC. But I'll admit, Nick does let his bias get the better of him.
