Though Warner Bros. have always maintained that they are not setting out to ape Marvel's approach to establishing a connected movie universe with their DC projects, it seems they were interested in utilizing the post-credits stinger which has become a staple of Marvel Studios flicks over the years. According to The Guardian, WB were trying to convince Man of Steel director Zack Snyder and producer Chris Nolan to attach an after credits scene to that movie, as a way of setting up something else further down the line. Nolan's response was simply, "a real movie wouldn't do that", and the idea was scrapped. The Dark Knight trilogy director has spoken about his refusal to include these types of stingers in his movies before, stating that he believes a film should stand on its own -- with a solid beginning, middle and end -- even if sequels were eventually to follow. This is likely what he meant by that quote, though it's hard to imagine he won't come in for some backlash for it. Do you agree with his assessment?
