New BTS Images Of Nicholas Cage In Costume As SUPERMAN

A couple of new, much clearer, snaps of Cage in a test costume as The Man Of Steel from Tim Burton's planned "Superman Lives" movie have found their way online. This version of the suit would have gone down much better with fans I think. Check em out past the jump..

We have already seen a tonne of images, concept art and test shots from Tim Burton's scrapped "Superman Lives", but I think the following snaps of Nicholas Cage in a previously unseen test suit may be the clearest - and most comic faithful - yet.

What do you think? Could you have bought Cage as Supes in this particular getup? Sound off below.

I would've loved to see this film. Honestly, I would. Burton, Smith and Cage? Wow. Who the [frick] knows what would've happened.

Regardless, Cage, no matter what you say, played a stellar Batman.

I'm pretty sure this was going to be black costume!

Looks like Burtons batman suit with an 'S' on it!

Ya know, Nick Cage would definitely be my last choice for Supes, but you never know what could have been, right? I mean no one would have dreamed Micheal Keaton would make a convincing Batman but Tim Burton pulled it off in a huge way. I'm thinking this could have been a game changer in how Superman is perceived in much the same way Batman was. Of course having seen where Snyder is going with the Man of Steel I have a feeling that everything will work out beautifully for Superman, but ya know...I guess you just never know, eh?

Cage does have a decent physique
TheTank

I wonder how authentic the pic is, only because when burton was attached, The "S" being used was the one we have seen in all the other pics, the silver raised version of the lighting suit S. Even the blue and red costume that he was to wear Had the silver S, with a red cape and blue boots. The belt here has the same buckle as the Batman 89 suit. This looks like it may have been a really early costume test. Or even perhaps a costume test that was done after burton left the project and Nic Cage was still attached. Burton left in late 98 early 99, and cage was still attached until late 2000, he was still on board when William Wisher was doing his drafts and burton was off directing Planet of the apes.

Despite such, i really wish there was budgets to do an else words superman movie just to see how this movie would have ended up. I had heard in an article that even tho Burton was cool with having Cage attached, his original choice for the role was Ralph Finnes.

Come on Burtons Batman certainly had sculpted abs. Shumacher just took it way too far. With the cod piece........yeah men happen to have junk down there. What I find funny is that the Cavil suit actually isn't that different. Nearly all the same choices were made. Though I think the Cavil suit tries to make the muscles seem more organic. But yeah 3d S, sculpted abs.

Now I wouldn't be surprised if this was a former batsuit though. As a concept test, they would try to sell the concept and not the final product.

I think audiences would have accepted Cage as Superman. I don't know about the story mind you. Also I could see Superman and Batman in the same universe.

As for Cages acting skills. The man does a lot of films for the paycheck. Plenty of actors do. Though if he handled his money better, he wouldn't need to do some many paychecks.

Yeah, Nic Cage would have been bizarre beyond words as Superman, but...that really doesnt look half-bad. I'd love to see it in color
