Smallville: More Clarks to Come

Smallville: More Clarks to Come

In the "Homecoming" episode of Smallville, Clark was projected to the year 2017, where he encountered his future self and caught a glimpse of his destiny as Superman. According to the Watching With Kristin column at E!.com there's an alternative Clark to come - beyond a return visit with the one we've met.

According to the column, an episode of Smallville will take place on an alternate earth, and when asked whether this alternate earth was different from what we saw in "Homecoming," Kristin wrote, "It is. We can also tell you that the Clark in this 'alt Earth' has been raised by someone other than the Kents, and it makes him veeerrry different and very interesting!"

Not too difficult to figure this one out. It's well known that John Glover is going to be reprising his role of Lionel Luthor, so undoubtedly that "someone other than the Kents" is going to be Lionel, which means that the Clark of that world is going to be VERY different and far more ruthless.

I would actually like to see Clark go to this other reality and find him raised by the Soviets like in Red Son, but this is cool, good to see Lionel back!

This might be one of the few good episodes of this show. This will only happen if they make him really bad, not just the lame close up on a troubled face kind of bad.

As cool as that sounds, this is the final season of Smallville... this sounds like a "filler" episode. We should have seen this in season 8 or 9.

Tom Welling/SUPERMAN

it may not be a filler episode. its possible clark gets sent there by darseid or something. it could easily be tied into the overall plot. but remember the theme of this season is clark progressing to superman so any episode that does that is not a "filler". just because it doesnt deal with the darkseid story doesnt make it filler as long as it deals with clarks progression.

my first thought was that they were gonna go the red son route, but the Lionel Luthor idea fits into the smallville canon, and it's still a cool concept. I'll be looking for this one, maybe we'll see if Welling gets to show more emotion, so that we'll get a better clue as to whether he'd make a good big screen supes.

I'd say Smallville is an alternate
reality it's not SUPERMAN from any
comic I've read. Well it sounds
like this episode could be interesting
but it also sounds like a filler.

No matter what they do with WELLING in
any episode he's not a BIG SCREEN
ACTOR PERIOD!! I would like to see
a made for t.v. movie with WELLING
finally as SUPERMAN... you know for
time invested!!

@ superdog, I agree, I should have been more clear. Although this is a probably a filler episode, like all filler's in the past seasons of Smallville, there has been something in each of those episodes that brings us closer to Superman. Problem is, most of the filler I can do without. Regardless, I keep watching.

Go Small--- SUPERMAN!

This sounds pretty cool, to see the dynamic of WHAT CLARK COULD HAVE BEEN had he not been raised by the warm loving bond of the Kent family.

I wonder if it'll be a bald/crazy Clark, lol

As much as I love smallville I gotta agree with deadpool on this (oh my god somebody shoot me :)). Welling should not be a big screen superman. I just don't think it would work and I don't think he has the chops for it. I would prefer routh

@Arminies...Superman Homepage just did ask whether Tom Welling or Brandon Routh should play Superman and guess who won? TOM WELLING! If SH isn't the epitome of a Superman site, I don't know what is.

Yeah, Routh loses pretty much every poll on any site. Except maybe a Routh site. He lost on the E! poll as well.

More people like Welling, case closed.

Welling MADE FOR T.V.
superman in low caps...no matter
how popular Welling is no director or
VIP big wig will sign him
to a movie deal the guy cant ACT!!!

Can anyone name ONE movie WELLING has been
in? Im not trying to be funny I just dont
know of anything he's been in. Maybe he was
guy number 1 in the cafe or something..the guy
isnt a big screen talent he's a soap opera actor
and typically those people cant act.

Um.. Blade4040... can we say Cheaper By the Dozen 1 and 2?

Outside of that... why would he need to do a big movie career when he gets paid a ton from his outstanding performances in Smallville (obviously as the series has continued for 10 seasons)?
He is married to a beautiful lady and is happy overall. IMO, he is very successful. So please... don't try bashing him with insults when you yourself are more than likely some basement living junkie who couldn't measure up to Welling's bellybutton lint.

Most people probably don't know all the behind the scenes work Welling does on Smallville as well.

Most likely that Routh rumor is false anyways. Came from an awful site.
ohsoserious
ohsoserious - 10/19/2010, 10:16 PM
@deadpool I don't care if welling gets it or not I just don't want it to be routh again I didn't like him in the roll and he probably shouldn't have got it in the first place the only real reason Singer cast him was because he looked likely Christopher Reeves and instead of making a new movie we got that abortion of a movie. So no routh not again I'd give welling a shot with better writing and a better director he might do better.

I would guess they will probably reveal Tess as Lex' half-sister, too.

They should stick to moving the story forward. It is the last season. Sigh.
