UPDATE: 4/2 - If you haven't figured it out yet, this was an April Fool's Day fake story.
One of the potential problems Clark Kent will eventually be facing when he reveals himself as Superman is the fact that there are a lot of people who know his face. "Because they haven't introduced the notion of the glasses," offers the source, "there's nothing to stop people from realizing that Clark and Superman are the same person. Continuity remains very important to the show's staff, so they knew this had to be handled delicately."
The solution? While Tom Welling's Superman will be wearing the traditional red and blue uniform, billowing cape included, now he'll be wearing a cowl as well to hide the majority of his face. "It seems like the perfect solution," we're told, "and besides, maybe it will offer a look that suggests Batman, which in itself might draw a few more eyeballs to the show."
Will the audience buy it? "Probably," the source smiles. "They've pretty much bought everything else the show has come up with, whether it fits canon or not. Besides, they only have to get through one more season."
The other real question is whether or not Welling's Clark Kent will finally start flying. Apparently they've gotten rid of the "no tights" rule, so why can't Mr. Kent take to the sky?
