Warner Bros. Animation has further teased their highly anticipated animated film
Reign of the Supermen, a follow-up to the
The Death of Superman, with a new promotional poster.
The poster features the four "Supermen" replacements who will attempt to fill the void left by the Man of Steel's death in
The Death of Superman. We see Eradicator, Steel, Superboy, and Cyborg Superman, each with their own agenda and idea of justice.
In a
previously released sneak peek of the upcoming animated film, the film's crew offered some more insight into each of these characters. Superboy was described as
"Superman if he had been raised by the Kardashians." John Henry Irons, aka Steel, represents
"the humanity and heart that Superman brings to the show." The Eradicator represents
"the quarter of Superman that is the last Son of Krypton." And finally, Cyborg Superman is
"the power of Superman, but a little devoid of emotion." Each of these four variants of the iconic Man of Steel will attempt to forge their own legacies as Superman's replacement, all the while a mourning Lois Lane seeks to find out if one of them could be a reborn oversion of Clark Kent.
If
The Death of Superman is about how we destroy our heroes, then the crew explains that
Reign of the Supermen is about how we make them.
Reign of the Superman will be a direct-to-video animated film, due out in early 2019.
