Zack Snyder decided not to include Jimmy Olsen in Man of Steel, and shocked fans by making the character a CIA agent who was gunned down in the opening moments of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
With James Gunn planning to deliver a far more hopeful, comic-accurate interpretation of Clark Kent in 2025's Superman: Legacy, he's now confirmed that the movie will include Jimmy.
He didn't offer any additional details beyond that but has previously mentioned that the Man of Tomorrow's relationship with Lois Lane will also be explored in the reboot. However, we're definitely curious about which other supporting characters from the comics will make an appearance beyond the obvious ones.
Gunn also elaborated on his recent comments that Warner Bros. won't have any input when it comes to DC Studios' DCU slate. With the filmmaker also serving as the studio's co-CEO, some fans have expressed concerns that, with no one to report to, Gunn will perhaps have too much creative freedom.
For example, The Suicide Squad tone wasn't to everyone's liking, but Gunn dismissed worries about a lack of oversight by explaining how DC Studios is a team effort. He then explained in detail the manner in which he'll still receive feedback about projects like Superman: Legacy (a movie he's writing and directing).

Superman: Legacy is set to be released in theaters on July 11. 2025.
