Brandon Routh played the Man of Steel in Bryan Singer's
Superman Returns but the disappointing critical and commercial response to that throwback to a bygone era meant we never got a sequel.
Since then, the actor has taken on a very different superhero role in the Arrowverse as The Atom but later this Fall, he'll don that cape one more time to play the
Kingdom Come version of Superman in the massive "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover event on The CW. Now, another promo shot of Routh suited up has been revealed and it's truly spectacular.
We don't know whether Routh is playing the same version of Superman or a completely different take from another universe but seeing him back in the role is one of the event's biggest draws.
The costume is pretty much perfect and it's fair to say that the
Legends of Tomorrow star still fills it out extremely well. With
Smallville's Tom Welling also set to appear, time will tell whether both actors will share the screen in their respective Superman suits (it's still hard to imagine Welling wanting to wear the costume but we'll have to wait and see).
