While Grant Gustin's portrayal of Barry Allen may have reached the finish line well over two months now, the memories live on, as new behind-the-scenes images of the early seasons of CW's The Flash have been released, flooding fans with nostalgia and emotion.

Credits to @Flashfacts4real for uploading these photos:

The first Gorilla Grodd episode, The Time-Sphere, The fallout of attempting to have seperated Martin Stein and Ronnie Raymond... As deteriorative as the quality for The Flash had got in recent seasons, you cannot help but appreciate when the DC show was carried by these highlights of episodic ventures.

It is always cool, however, to see how such cornerstones of superhero media came to be underneath all those computerized effects and hardworking stuntwork.

The laughs, the friendships, the memories... All will be remembered among the entire cast and crew of The Flash, not to mention what this growing audience has felt over the years from these character's.

At 11, Barry Allen's life changed completely when his mother died in a freak accident and his innocent father was convicted of her murder. Orphaned Barry later becomes Detective Joe West. Now a crime-scene investigator, his dedication to learn the truth about his mother's death drives him to follow up on every new scientific advancement and urban legend.

When his latest obsession - a particle accelerator heralded as a world-changing invention - causes an explosion, it creates a freak storm and Barry is struck by lightning. He awakes from a coma nine months later with the power of superspeed. When he learns that others who have gained powers use them for evil, he dedicates himself to protecting the innocent, while still trying to solve the older mystery.

I remember catching up on 2 whole seasons of Arrow just so I wouldn't miss any continuity nods once The Flash premiered. It really feels like the cinematic/media silver age of superheroes is over.

@Spidey91 - lol. The only reason why I watched Arrow was to know what I missed leading up to the Flash.

That's cool, always nice to see BTS of the early days of one of my fave shows.

The cowl sure evolved through the years until S6, they nailed everything about the Flash suit ever since.

Say what you want about later seasons of this show or the Arrowverse in general but even with its inconsistency ,this universe will always hold a special place in my heart.

S1 still holds up imo and remains the best season of the show and while I liked S2 , it didn’t have the highs for me that the first one did…

From then on , season by season the show could never reach its prior heights (but would come close at times, whether it be due to certain episodes or story arcs) but I’ll always have fond memories of this.

Keep running Barry!!.

@TheVisionary25 - Yeah the first season I think was great.
One of the troubles I had as it moved on was off the back of the intro... "My name is Barry Allen and I am the fastest man alive", then each season seemed to introduce a new speedster who was faster than him...

I know it wasn't all that way, but seemed like it was far too often.
