Green Lantern Isn't Coming To THE FLASH

After Marc Guggenheim confirmed that Green Lantern will not appear in the next season of Arrow, now Grant Gustin has seemed to confirm that he will not appear in The Flash either...

After teasing and making multiple easter eggs to Green Lantern in the show, including Barry going to Ferris Aircraft, Coast City, and mentioning a missing test pilot that worked for Ferris Air, fans have been wondering if Hal Jordan/Green Lantern would make an apperance in the second season of The Flash or (Green) Arrow. In an earlier interveiw Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim (the king of Olicity) had said that is unlikely for Hal Jordan to appear in Arrow due to the Green Lantern Corps movie being released in five years, even though Arrow's flashbacks in season four take place in Coast City ! Now, in response to a fan, Grant Gustin seems to have confirmed on his twitter account that Green Lantern will not appear on his show either.

This seems to confirm that all the Hal Jordan/Green Lantern references are just nods to the DC fandom, for now. One can always hope, right ?!

Green Lantern is not the first character that the DCTV Universe has been cut off from using. Arrow was forced to replace Ted Kord (The Blue Beetle) with Ray Palmer (The Atom) last season, and also had erase all Harley Quinn plans and kill off Deadshot due the Suicide Squad movie coming out next year. The Flash was forced to cut out a Lex Luthor easter egg due to Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and neither show can even mention Gotham or Metropolis, which is weird becuase Supergirl and Gotham mention them all the time, and The Flash made a Batman reference in it's first episode. Even Legends Of Tomorrow has also been stopped from using Booster Gold, even though his son, Rip Hunter, is one of the show's main characters.

On the bright side their is no lack of heroes coming to DCTV, even with these restrictions. Jay Garrick, Wally West/Kid Flash, Dr. Light, Atom-Smasher, Hawkman, and Hawkgirl are all set to appear in the next season of The Flash. Along with Mr. Terrific and Constantine appearing on the next season of Arrow, and Red Tornado set to make an apperance in Supergirl.

@ManCalledSting Flash had an Easter egg as well, maybe the biggest. Barry mentioned Ferris Air having a missing pilot and an air hangar of the company being shut down

If they can't use the Green Lantern Corps, they should use the Darkstars or Omega Men instead. Plus you could say one of them was a member of the Blackhawk Air Corps. For people that don't know who the Blackhawk Air Corps are, they're a secret team that is made to stop an alien invasion if ever there is to be one.

That's so stupid how film characters are off limits. What's the point of seperate universes then?

I don't want GL on Flash, give lesser known characters chance like Blue Beetle, Plastic Man etc.

Alan Scott wouldn't be that hard to do on TV.

Why is Ted Kord restricted? Is he going to be in a movie? Scoot McNairy? An action- comedy DCEU movie?

@TheGustache

"Why is Ted Kord restricted? Is he going to be in a movie? Scoot McNairy? An action- comedy DCEU movie?"

Funny enough, set pics of Arrow's fourth season premiere shows Kord Industries being shown again, but Arrow is never able to actually show Ted Kord or even just the Blue Beetle persona as the writers wanted Blue Beetle rather than Atom before the start of the S3 premiere. And with Booster Gold being off limits for Legends of Tomorrow as well, I am thinking we will be getting some kind of "buddy cop" kind of film with the two.

@Malcopunch

"Alan Scott wouldn't be that hard to do on TV."

Alan Scott would be awesome to have in CW DC's universe. I wonder why the writers haven't asked to use that specific GL.

They should use Stan Lee's earth-powered Green Lantern.
