THE FLASH's Divisive CG Cameos Face Fresh Round Of Ridicule During SAG-AFTRA Strike - Check Them Out In HD!

The Flash's divisive cameos have finally been revealed in HD, but they're proving even more controversial than when the DCEU movie arrived in theaters. You can take a closer look at the CG heroes here...

The Flash raced into theaters a little over a month ago and, as things stand, the movie will go down as the biggest flop in Warner Bros.' history.

It's fair to say that means the vast majority of people haven't watched it, but with it now available on Digital, an awful lot of fans are finally checking out the Scarlet Speedster's first solo outing...and they aren't loving those cameos.

The fact bootleg versions of the Speed Force sequence started surfacing on social media and YouTube prior to The Flash's release killed a lot of hype and contributed to its poor box office performance. Now, though, they've hit Twitter in HD and have become particularly timely amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

A sticking point for many actors is that studios want to use AI to essentially make use of their likenesses forevermore, and if the results are anything like The Flash's ghoulish cameos...well, you can see why that might be problematic.

As you can see below, the entire sequence is available online to watch, though Nic Cage's cameo has proven to be a major talking point among fans.

Despite the actor actually being on set, the Kick-Ass star has been transformed into a CG monstrosity who looks very out of place in a 2023 blockbuster. We can kind of see what Warner Bros. was going for, but this stylised take on the Speed Force ultimately failed to resonate.

It's unclear whether this cameo-heavy sequence was Andy Muschietti's plan from the start or an idea introduced by DC Studios and James Gunn.

The Flash is now available to purchase on Digital and can still be found in some theaters.

Here’s the thing. The CG is pretty well executed. The CG sculpt of Cage as Superman looks real. The lighting, texturing, animation, modeling and dynamic simulation are mostly top-notch. But the damn camera work ruins everything. The camera is constantly spinning around like it’s a video game cutscene.

@santoanderson - no dude. its not the camera work. it literally looks the way Neo did in reloaded. you know, that movie from 2003 which had a lot of complex CGI.

@santoanderson - Lol, I have to laugh at the ignorance of some of you wannabe filmmakers and storytellers. Things were spinning for a freakin' reason. It was a multiverse scene. Facepalm!

@santoanderson -

This is a better example of what you´re saying. A CG camera movement should still replicate the movements and weight of a real camera

@NicolausCopernicus - I wish this whole fight sequence looked better. I liked this movie a lot, but when it got to this scene it totally took me out of it.

Oh ffs Josh! We all know the reason you’re so hot and heavy on beating the flash into the ground is because it puts a nail in the Snyder-verse coffin. The Snyder-verse is dead. It was a total failure despite you, and shills like you, calling ZS Justice League the movie event of the decade or some such bs. Don’t lump that mound of dog poop of a theatrical universe onto Gunn’s shoulders. You liked what Snyder did well enough in the past, own it, it’s yours.

@vegetaray - Josh Wilding comes across like an ignoramus who knows little about storytelling and shouldn't be criticizing any film based on that.

@vegetaray - What Gunn does deserve criticism is in meddling with the ending. Clooney replacing Keaton (and removing Supergirl) was all by his hands. That shouldn't be ignored since it robbed the film from the emotional catharsis of Barry having another chance to meet with those he fought besides and thought they were long gone. Gunn ruined that when the only thing to do was to remove the post credit scene that leads to Crisis.

@GhostDog - As bad as some of that movie's CGI was, it was still pretty decent for 2003 and used in a pretty decent way for the multiple Smiths vs Neo fight.

Flash 2023 has no excuse.
