One of the biggest surprise additions to The Flash movie is Sasha Calle as Supergirl. There's a tonne of excitement surrounding what the actress will bring to the role, and the anticipation is that she'll eventually star in her own spinoff film.
Calle will be the first Latina Supergirl on screen, and it looks like the Girl of Steel will receive a new look as a result. We weren't anticipating The Young and the Restless alum going blonde, but a new photo shared to Instagram shows Calle's dark locks have been cut quite a bit shorter!
Filming is underway on The Flash in the UK, so this new cut is almost certainly for the DC Comics adaptation. There is precedent in the source material for Supergirl to rock a shorter hairstyle, though this is most reminiscent of the Cir-El version of the iconic character.
She wore a black costume and blue cape, and was originally introduced as the alleged daughter of Superman. Later, it was revealed that Cir-El was a human girl genetically altered by the villain Brainiac to appear Kryptonian. Just because The Flash's Supergirl has the same hairstyle, however, it doesn't mean any of that backstory will be used in the movie.
Instead, we're expecting Calle to play the Supergirl, and can't wait to see what she brings to the role.
