Marvel Studio's
Thor has entered into the final stretch of filming. The production is getting ready to move off of the reclusive New Mexico set and back to their California studio., along with scattered filming locations throughout the state.
The first major cast member to finish their scenes is Jaime Alexander, who is portraying the Asgardian warrior Lady Sif. Alexander updated her Twitter account this afternoon with this message:
Thor fans have continuously voiced their thanks to Alexander over the past several months. She is the only cast member to give the public constant updates about the production. For example, several weeks ago Alexander Tweeted this picture of herself ("the gun show," as she called it) in the lobby of the New Mexico hotel she was staying while filming.
In other
Thor news, I just received word that the production is set to film a scene this week in Simi Valley, California. Simi Valley, located in Ventura County, is a residential area surrounded by the Santa Susana Mountain Range (pictured below, click the image to enlarge). To information has come out that reveals the scope of the scene of the cast members who will be present.
This new location will be the closest the studio has come to using populated real estate for filming. The Del Mar filming location, where Thor and his fellow Asgardians would have been riding their horses down the coast line, was scrapped early on in favor of a yet to be disclosed Northern California spot.
If you live in or near Simi Valley, be sure to keep an eye out for production signs titled, 'Manhattan;' which is the
Thor movie working title.
