Possible Runtime for THOR: THE DARK WORLD Revealed?

The British Board of Film Classification reveals a possible running time for the upcoming Marvel film Thor:The Dark World and it seems it may be Marvel's shortest film yet!

A film classification website known as BBFC has revealed a possible running time for the upcoming movie Thor:The Dark World and it seems to be Marvel's Cinematic Universe's shortest film yet at 111 minutes. The first Thor film had a 115 minute running time which makes the possibility seem even more real. Also in 2008 The Incredible Hulk clocked in at 112 minutes long. Maybe Marvel is staying cautious since this is Alan Taylor's first venture in the director's seat of a major studio film.

Oh boy, weren't early reports saying the film was reaching 2 1/2hrs. long? If so, they cut out a good 30-40mins. With all the shit it sounds like they'll be tackling, this may be a giant cluster[frick].

I believe it. Every trailer shows exact same thing, short or long. I love Thor, but my expectations is that this movie is not going to be good

1 hour 30 mins should be the minimum for any Blockbuster.

I will say everyone I have looked on the BBFC website for further purposes and compared the running time of other films as they have displayed which are currently in theaters now. They are really accurate in those terms and details. For now this could still be considered as a possibility as I have said.

Still if the plot and acting are good the time will not matter.

Wow, I am extremely sad if true. Very angry at cutting movies. If they do cut, they should at least make it so we can buy the Limited Edition NR 3D Blu-ray version like The Wolverine.

Thor is a very special character to me, I would incredibly disappointed if this didn't hit the 2 hour mark, especially with all the amazing talent this movie has to offer.

Quality over quantity. A long movie doesn't always mean it will be good. Sometimes, but not always.

To Omegadagod
It says 'home - releases' meaning the home page of the site and then the page of releases. Rather than a page of dvds and blu rays.

That is the precise runtime to the exact second. The bbfc are a government organisation for classifiying films and they also list a film to the exact number of feet and frames. They are going by the film they would have been sent a week/a few days or so ago to watch and decide on an age rating. Any other runtime quoted by any other site is untrue.

i just saw the new clip

have you noticed how the keep showing us Volstagg but nothing of Fandral or Hogun?

Whats the matter with them? i mean they are the three warrior no "Volstagg and the other 2 guys"

forthesakeofnow - 10/16/2013, 10:26 PM
With any film where there is deliberation as to runtime in the run up to release the bbfc are the first source you can trust other than potentially the mpaa. The moment the publish the runtime. It is that runtime and nothing else. Lest they have a genunine typo which will be corrected. With a few films i have been the one who has updated wikipedia with the runtime of a film taken from.bbfc and.it has always been correct. There is no reason why it shouldnt be. If the film was changed at all.from.when.they watched it to when its released it would have to be resubmited and rewatched again.

@omegadagod

Imdb and google will have probably had those times up like rt's two hours for a while. Wiki's 112 will be a rounding up from the actual 111. Bbfc IS confirmation.

@JoJo1982 The trailers should be cool, but Thor is my equivalent of Harry Potter/Elder Scrolls hype. Captain America and Spidery cannot hold a candle to the breathtaking realms of Yggdrasil.

I dont mind the running time however i thought from the trailers and tv spots the running time would be longer.

Maybe there'll be more deleted scenes with Thor the dark world?

Ragnaroknroll
Ragnaroknroll - 10/16/2013, 11:35 PM
Well. That. Just. Sucks.

Figures Thor would get the shaft. The first movie was too short already and now this one is even SHORTER? This movie was supposed to be EPIC. Meanwhile Shane Black gets to jerk off for an extra 20 minutes with Marvel's Golden Boy Iron Man?

If that's all we're getting than I hope this sh*t is quality. Meanwhile I'm sure Thor will get a bit part in Avengers 2.

Very disappointed.

WAY too short. Not even two hours? That's terrible, I shan't lie. I was hoping and expecting it to be about 2 hours 10 minutes. If it's not even that... then I'm majorly disappointed. Not long enough at all.
Especially when we've seen the trailers and clips and it looks so epic, it's a bit of a dampener to know it won't even be 2 hours. Besides, after The Avengers and its success I'd expected Marvel would certainly give their films longer because it's a fact they'd make their money back and more.
Really dissatisfied with that.
Under two hours is just not enough for me personally to enjoy. I don't doubt it's probably going to be a great film, but now I'm expecting it to be cut irritatingly short leaving me somewhat frustrated.

"Every trailer shows exact same thing, short or long. I love Thor, but my expectations is that this movie is not going to be good."

I've said the same thing for months. There's something way off about the CGI, and I'm more than a little worried about the script. Loki's "you must be desperate" line is becoming as repetitive as Magneto's "You people never learn" and Thor's "Anyone else?" is cool, but he did the same thing when he said "Next?" in the first movie.

Couple that with Jane's scenes whining to Thor about how he couldn't make time for a booty call while he was with The Avengers...ugh...

I hope I'm DEAD wrong about the final product, but with a debut shortly before 'Catching Fire', this better hit on all cylinders. Right now, this ain't hittin my spot.

111 min is running time, credits are 11 min which means movie running time is 100 min = 1hr and 40 min.
So yeah, you guys want Spider-Man to give Marvel? What i say to this? FUC*K YOU!!!
