I know I'm really late with the results, but here they are. So, a lot of you already watched THOR directed by Kenneth Branagh. Film received mostly positive reviews and as far as the box office goes, it's currently on $435M mark. I won't go into details, I'm pretty sure you already know everything. With over 5120 votes, here are the results:

- 3,393 Votes (66.19%):

It was epic! One of the best comic book movies ever made!

- 1,651 Votes (32.21%):

I liked it, but I was expecting a little bit more.

- 82 Votes (1.60%):

I hated it! Everything was awful from start to finish.

There you go! Starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Natalie Portmanm, Stellan Skarsgård, Jaimie Alexander, Ray Stevenson and Colm Feore, THOR is still playing in theatres worldwide.

Note to Captain America: Thor was good, almost epic (but not quite, still had some annoying flaws)--you need to be even better! Avenge

I'm in between liking it and thinking it was epic. Epic parts, but not epic throughout. Didn't like Natilie Portman in this too much. Soundtrack needed to be epic, it wasn't. Hemsworth as Thor was awesome though. Enjoyed most of the cast in this. 8.5/10 for me. I'll definitely be picking it up on BR.

It was a good way to start off the summer. Good comic book movie (not the greatest) but not bad. With Thor and X-men First Class, Marvel did a good job with their movies so far this year. If Cap is a hit then Marvel will be sitting pretty for the rest of the year.

I loved it, Hemsworth did a fantastic job and Brannagh, though not being an action movie director did brilliantly. Though with any movie like this i always await the directors cut with more excitement. There is often too much to tell in a cinema release. I think it needed some more action towards the end, (the fight on Jotunheim was epic mind).

Though i think part of the enjoyment came from knowing at the back of my mind it was all leading to the Avengers. Though this film can stand on its own feet.

I thought it would be a bomb but was very happy to be wrong for once. It just goes to show that i should have more faith in capeable directors like Branaugh. That being said i just got done watching the directors extended bluray cut of Sucker Punch by one of my most favorite directors, Zack Snyder and...well...it kinda wasnt so good. Thor though....Thor was great, just great!

There were two stories in THOR...

@ASGARD ~ Thor ignites War, disappoints father, and loses the throne {epic battles, sinister jealous brother, bad ass Heimdall}.

@EARTH ~ The arrogant God is separated from his hammer to learn humility {not enough development, anti-climatic battle, lesson learned too quick}.

@ASGARD ~ A+

@EARTH ~ F

I didn't like it. But I give a thumbs up to Selvig and Thor's friendship. Very well done. Like a classic child fairytale comes to life story between them.

Chris Hemsworth made Thor the success it was, he delivered charm to a character that won everyone over even when he was being an asshole! Compared to his performances in films before this he's almost unrecognisable, truly an outstanding effort for him!

I agree with Niuhll, if there was a better battle scene at the end of the movie this movie could have been a 10 instead of an 8. Overall it was a good way to launch the franchise and I hope the sequel will be even better

I wouldn't quite call Thor epic...far from it. It could have been much much better. Easy film to forget about, not enough depth and felt... dare I say... "DISNEY LIKE".. X-men First Class is the best CBM of the year so far.

I'm sorry, but what does this movie do that makes it great? There's one good fight scene, the plot development is terrible, and there is no character at all. Meanwhile, I saw green lantern today and I have to say it was an amazing movie. All the people I was with today loved it too, there was character, action, and a he'll of a time. Thor just wasn't good, and all it did was prep you for the avengers. Follow my fansite to take a look at my annual cbm top5/10

@pahenya

I definitely agree. Walking out of the theater, the thought came across me that Disney's influence {they own the company of course} may have resulted in the story feeling "water-down".

I thought it was awesome made me even more psyched for cap and the avengers. I just found Thor to be really epic I needed to see even more you know a good problem to have with a movie is wanting it to be longer. So far best CBM of the summer with First Class being a close second. As far as it's fellow movies in continuity I'd say better than Ironman but I still like Hulk better than Thor. The thing to keep in mind is how hard it is to blend a character like Thor into the universe established by it's predecessors; to me it was done about as good as you can do it (credit that to the director).

CaptainDC With all due respect; if you are well versed in movie plots and character development, and your assessment of THOR is that it's "terrible", it is highly unlikely that you would find Green Lantern "Amazing". So, we'll have to conclude that you really don't know about such things and you simply like the shiney lights in Green Lantern more than you like the shiney lights in THOR, because you see less of them in THOR.

THOR is not without it's flaws, but the entire film is a prime example of getting maximum quality out of a modest production. You can ONLY do that with a good producer who distributes the budget in key places, a director that shoots the film in a higher regard than a typical CBM and lead actor with talent that is perfectly cast. I don't get into the DC/MARVEL thing, but I must say; if Kenneth had GL's budget for THOR, they would have been cleaning shit off the theater seats for weeks.

Win.

@CaptainDC - Seriously, there wasn't even ONE decent action scene in Green Lantern worth watching twice. It's no surprise its doing terribly at the box office, because its cheesy at the most, something Thor and X-men are not. When your action scene consists of making green shapes to save the day and the sum of that is a race car with a track, two fighter jets tying you to a harness and a Pool of water? Man why didn't they just let him fire power blasts instead of all that cheesy object crap!
CaptainDC
CaptainDC - 6/19/2011, 9:41 PM
@NeoBaggins
I understand your thoughts and respect them, but tell me three things about Thor as a person that you learned after watching that movie? I'm just curious, and Thor is a cool character, but as the movie progressed, all it did was decline, decline, and decline in action. I still cannot wait to see Thor in The Avengers so that he can kick some ass and show who he really is, but in his own movie, there just wasn't enough for me to say it was one of the "best comic book movies." By the way, First Class blew Thor out of the water

@CaptainDC Dont let your obsession with DC fool you. Thor was a great movie. And after Green Lantern after much debate I will say this "MARVEL IS PWNING THE MOVIE GENRE". Not saying they are the better company but DC needs to get their ducks in order.
