Thor: Ragnarok is being released around the world this weeked, and Marvel has decided to use the movie's critical success in their latest marketing push.
The movie had previously received lots of buzz following preview screenings and earlier release in various countries, but now Marvel is ready to declare that their newest film is their best reviewed movie ever, a day before its American release.
Thor: Ragnarok currently sits at an outstanding 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, but started today at 96%, which would have made it the top-rated comic book movie in the site's history.

Thor: Ragnarok is currently tied with
Spider-Man 2 and
The Dark Knight for the title of best reviewed comic book movie ever. The movie is also tied with
Iron Man, the first entry in the MCU, and just above
Spider-Man: Homecoming and
The Avengers, which were both deemed "fresh" by 92% of critics.
Of course it's only Thursday, so the film's score will probably change by a couple percentage points soon, but this is certainly a good sign for fans who hope to see another Thor film in the MCU's next phase of movies. It also gives director Taika Waititi some bargaining power if Marvel wants to bring him back for a future movie.
In addition to Logan, Wonder Woman, and Spider-Man Homecoming, 2017 has certainly been the year of critically acclaimed superhero movies.
