Thor: Love and Thunder is now just 10 days away from arriving in theaters, and Marvel Studios is kicking off the countdown with an action-packed new TV spot.

We see a lot of the Guardians of the Galaxy, while it appears we'll be spending at least some time with the Viking Thor who debuted in Avengers: Endgame. We know from the trailers that this movie will explore the God of Thunder's weight loss journey, but it's good to know the look will get some attention before Thor returns to his usual buff self.

During a recent interview with Cinema Blend, Chris Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi were asked about someone we won't see in the movie: Tom Hiddleston's Loki.

"He didn't want to be involved. He, he said 'I hate all of you, and, and in particular me,' and I was like, that's a shame," Hemsworth joked. "And that's it. I mean, how many times can we kill him? We love Tom. We love Tom. Yeah. But he's dead. Not him, but the character of Loki."

"No, no he's just dead to us," Waititi interjected before Hemsworth added, "He's obviously dead to us, as far as friendship goes." Once again, they're obviously just kidding around here, and the God of Mischief's story will continue when Loki returns to Disney+ sometime in 2023.

The movie finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.

Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Directed by Taika Waititi, the movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Russell Crowe, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Sean Gunn among others.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to be released in theaters on July 8, 2022.

Viking Thor? You mean depressed and drinking Thor?

Heard no one calling me a viking when I drank too much.

i hope people go in realizing that the guardians are probably only in it for a few minutes before it moves on to thor and jane. i mean its obvious since they only show them in the same sequences. probably an opening battle scene and thats it.

@supermanrex - Actually at least 2 scenes since he's fat and skinny in trailer scenes with them. Guessing the battle scene at the end of the clip above, a training montage getting back in shape, then a farewell with the awkward thor creeping into the frame scene from the first trailer.

I always thought he looked really cool during the Endgame fight. The hair style, the yelling and screaming with that crazed look in his eyes. He was completely unhinged, it was great!

I still have to say that out of all the new Phase 4 movies, only one scene in particular has been either ignored completely or they don't want to continue that plot point. But again, Arishem appearing and overlooking the earth was as big if not bigger and monumental as the first Avengers film when civilians saw Aliens for the first time.
