Unexpected Thor Movie Cameo Revealed

J. Michael Straczynski will appear in his beloved Thor universe on screen!

If you have been reading the recent Thor runs by Marvel then you know how amazing J. Michael Straczynski is. His solicitation on Thor made many fans rediscover their love of the character. He was definitely the reason Thor received positive reviews and awards.

According to WorstPreviews, he will have a part in the film. JMS even posted on his Facebook page on his cameo.

"I did a cameo on the new 'Thor' movie," he said. "It was supposed to be just a ten second deal, but director Kenneth Branagh decided (against the evidence) that I can act, so he kept putting me in more bits. We'll see what ends up on the cutting room floor, but it was a lot of fun."

When asked for more details, Straczynski replied: "I can't comment on the role or anything specific to the story or characters out of deference to the production. All I can say is that it was something drawn from my tenure writing the Thor comic."

That's awesome! Hopefully DC will follow suit and put Geoff Johns in GL. I'd be sold on the movie for sure.

I knew Branagh would probably do something lik this. Given his reverence for source material, to him this is like putting Shakespear in Othello, a film in which Branagh himself was amazing, arguably his best performance ever and definately the difinative version of Iago.

i wish they had gone with an older Thor and Loki so that Branagh himself would have been cast as Loki. He is definately the most qualified actor out there.

Excellent! The guy deserves it because he brought Thor back (a character I never really liked) and made him [frick]ing awesome!!! For all the points ANIL made and more, he's one of the best Thor writers ever IMO! :)

What about BALDER though? Why havent we heard any casting news about the character? (or have we and I've forgotten, lol?)

Kenneth f*cks over Stan and then gets Straczynski for abig caemo role = NICE GOING!! :D

This will be like the Ferigno cameo in TIH, it's gonna be very cool.
And if Kenneth says he can act, well that's saying something! The Straczynski should be very proud of himself...

@ Stubbyswof: since the Asgardians didn't play any role in Ultimates V1-V2 I guess they're indeed going with the 616 universe
