We have seen couple of fan-art images that give us an interesting look at the ThunderCats characters. Today, I came across this gallery, created by illustrator George Evangelista, featuring a re-imagined look at Tygra, Panthro and Cheetara. I cringe every time I read or hear the phrase "fan art" because the artwork is always so terrible. I think there should be a distinguishing line here. This is not fan art. Let's come up with another term......art? Just art? i.e. This is great artwork from a great artist. I believe at this point the artist can drop the "fan" from his work's category. I understand the focus on subject matter, but...man there's just too much negative connotation in the term "fan art." Ha am I alone here?

Looks very Avatar, but I think that's probably the point. Makes me wish James Cameron ripped off that story instead.

panthro is spot on tygra is alright and cheetara is not sexy enough. i guess its b/c SHE DOESN'T HAVE THE LONG HAIR!!! other than that it's pretty good artwork

some of the best "fan" art for thundercats i have seen. not sure if i like the creative choices made, but then again art is subjective and should conjure respectful debate... having said that, panthro with battle scars is flippin' cool

It kinda reminds me of that fan trailer with vin diesel as panthro, brad pitt as liono, and Hugh jackman as tygra. It think Halle berry was cheetara. That was one badass fan trailer.
