Thanks to JoBlo.com, we now know of two new Autobots who have been added to the roster of Transformers 4. Following the reveal of the two stunning vehicles last night - which you can see by clicking HERE - the site has apparently learned that the Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse is named 'Drift' and the C7 Corvette Stingray is in fact 'Slingshot'; two classic Transformers characters. Whether or not they will retain the personalities of their cartoon and comic book counterparts remains to be seen at this point. Directed by Michael Bay and starring Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci and Kelsey Grammer, the fourth Transformers movie is currently set to be released on June 27th, 2014.

This is Bionicle 4, not Transformers. I don't recognize a difference between the vast majority of those Bayformers.

In defense for the look of the Bayformer, the Transformers movies suffered by bad writing, long runtimes, too many human characters, and way too many corny/sexual jokes. The look and overal design of the characters, however, was absolutely awesome. I loved it! It brought a sense that every piece on them has some sort of importance in their transformation. I thought they looked great, and this is coming from a fanboy who has seen every episode in the original G1 series.

Slingshot is a jet fighter not a car :/

@ahhmynuts: Don't think that one was fair, since it's the game? Look at this:

I recognize Optimus, Bumblebee, Starscream, and that little no-name bot. 6 of these bots have the same color scheme and look like friggin scaffolding.

@luminus

first of all the pic is small as [frick]. second this is concept art. doesnt even look like any scene from the movies. dudes with red look like the little drones from TF3. and the guy running looks like iron hide.

Why people hating on the 3rd movie "Dark of the moon"? I honestly thought it was the best one of the series.
And why would anyone want the Transformers robots designs to be like the cartoons? That would look cheesy and campy as hell, Bays designs are fine.
ahhmynuts
ahhmynuts - 5/29/2013, 5:41 AM
sure most colors are close but thats because of the vehicle they take over. do you want a purple tank or a soft blue jet. maybe a rainbow helicopter might do. anyway, others are iron hide, jazz, megatron before he got messed up, and the helicopter bot dont know what his name is.

invest in some glasses or contacts

You want better designs, look at the War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games. The bots in the movies look like piles of shredded garbage.

If you buy a ticket to see this movie, after knowing the first 3 are a huge Bay middle finger to fans who care about their childhoods, then you're an idiot and deserve to be stuck in crap movie hell.

Another autobot name repurposed for a hot sports car. Slingshot is a jet. But who cares about that?

I admitted that mike bay might already ruined my childhood, but I'm goin to see it.well, the story might be sucks and totally out,but the fighting scene was [frick]in awesome.

There are two scene probablt the best action in cbm;battle on the highway (optimus vs bonecrusher) and battle of the forrest (optimus vs blackout bs starscream vs megatron).

When I was a kid
I couldn't tell the difference between the animated Transformers.

Seriously. Most of them had no personality to speak of. People say "he's ruining the show".. the show wasn't that great, lol. It was just fun to watch.

"Transformers more than meets the eye. Transformers robots in disguise."

Yup because a Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse and a C7 Corvette Stingray parked in a quiet neighbourhood is really going to help not arouse suspicion isn't it. Though the cars are cool, the Autobots and Decepticons really should be common class cars instead of the flashy eye-catching sports cars all the time. Cars also need a bit of grit, too damn clean all the time.

I thought the previous 3 films were entertaining enough. My biggest two issues were that most of the robots were indistinguishable from each other and that there was zero character development with the robots themselves.

The action was VERY fast most of the time and when most of the robots were black/gray, it was nearly impossible to keep up. I appreciate the idea behind the designs, but it just doesnt work when the action goes by so quickly. I know people don't necessarily want exact replicas of the cartoon design, but they really need to do something to make the robots seem individualistic.

The lack of character development with the robots made it hard to really care if one died or not. They tried with Bumbleebee and Optimus to a degree, but other than that, nada. One of the great things about the cartoon was each robot had their own personality. When a cartoon has better character development than a $200+ million dollar movie, you know something isn't right.

I think if Bay worked on those two things, it would vastly improve the overall experience.

I'm going to see this movie.
I'm probably going to enjoy this movie.
Why?
I'm not too busy trying so hard to hate it.
I'm not expecting oscar worthy performances.
I'm not expecting an oscar worthy script.
I am expecting spot on visuals.
I am expecting a movie about big robots fighting.

Tranformers were toys first, then a show. Unless the tagline says based on the television show, he can more or less do whatever he wants as long as the origins are still there to a degree.
