Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen had a lot of stuff going on in it. From explosions to two story robots biting the dust, not to mention a host of characters new and old to the franchise. One in particular would be Sam Witwicky's college room mate Leonardo "Leo" Ponce De Leon Spitz. Let's just call this guy Spitz for short. Its easier to say and this guy looks like a Spitz. Spitz served very little plot purpose in Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen but that's not stopping Michael Bay from adding the Spitz into Transformers 3 with a bigger role.

Michael Bay had this to say about the Spitz during a interview with the LA Times: "He’s got a street edge and a realness to him. He’s a New York kid with a street feel to him. He adapted to the actors very well, which isn't always easy in a big movie, a sequel, where a lot of the cast chemistry has been set already. He’s funny, charming, comes off cool and accessible.”

"We went looking for a sidekick in this movie, Shia’s sidekick, and we find this new kid who really pops on screen," states Bay. Michael Bay got what he intended to get with The Spitz, Bay got Sam's sidekick.

The Spitz elaborates on his audition for Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen:

“For 90 minutes, he (Michael Bay) had me jumping, running, diving over the furniture in his office that was the audition,” states The Spitz, who was lucky enough to land the role of Shia LaBeouf’s sidekick in the biggest Summer Blockbuster movie of the year. “I was drenched in sweat. ‘OK, hide behind the desk!’ ‘Now, run over here!’ And man, I was looking in his eyes, and he was enjoying it. He’s got a passion for action. It shows in the movies too.”
