Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen
Rated PG13
DarthStern's Rating 8/10 nick cage bobble heads

So far this year its been a pretty lackluster movie going experience. While there have been some greats Star Trek,Watchman, and Coraline. There have also been some real hams, Wolverine and Terminator come to mind. Well the summer finally has its second heavy hitter with Transformers Revenge of the Fallen.

This movie has been hyped to death, at least in NYC. Every where I go there's a billboard with Optimus on it, so needless to say Transformers are everywhere. I'm not one to go to a flick on opening night. I usually go see a late showing on sunday night, so i don't get hit with the crowds. I don't know how it is outside of NYC, but seeing a big movie is like going to a fine restaurant, you had better make reservations. Well that i did, Fandango all the way, for a 10:20 IMax showing. Got to the theater at 9:20 for no good reason, and it was a good thing I did, there was all ready a line of about 50 people waiting to get into the auditorium, going to the movies in NY Is a pain in the ass man. I mean don't these people have work in the morning.

Well now for the nitty gritty. I really do not see what people are complaining about. All I read in the bad reviews, especially on this site is that the movie had no story, or that the story made no sense. Well maybe its me, but I did not go to this flick expecting a story as engrossing as say the "Godfather", I wanted to see giant robots kick the gears out of each other and Megan Fox run around looking as hot as can be. This movie delivered that in every way. The Action scene's were top notch and there were plenty of them to go around. Megan Fox ran around looking super hot, they even found a way to have her run around in tight white pants for half the movie what's better than that.

I have to say the action scenes are really well put together, for some reason, maybe its because ILM did the CGI, you never get that "green screen effect" where it just looks like the actor is running away from a picture on the wall behind him, its all seamless and it looks dam good. I thought it was a real step up from the first one. Also I know most people hate Shya LaBuff and he's not going to win an Oscar for this performance, but as always he's solid. I really don't know why people dislike this kid. He's got a good screen presence, and a lot of charisma. I hate to break it to all the haters out there but he's not going anywhere anytime soon. He's a solid actor and I really see a bright future for him in hollywood. Megan Fox on the other hand I don't know how I feel about her yet, I mean she's the hottest chick on the planet, but as far as acting goes, well, we will have to see her next flick to judge. Like in the first one she's just eye candy, not to many lines, not to much acting chops needed for this role.

Now i did have some problems with the movie, one of them being there were a lot of "douch chills"
in it. Like the scene where Ironhide says "Dam I'm good" after taking out a Deceptacon. and pretty much every scene with the twins. They really are the Jar Jar of the new millennium . Also the action scenes are filmed to close up, well "filmed" is a bad word, but you know what I mean. It seems like this is the newest trend in hollywood since the Bourne movies. Hey hollywood it does not look cool. When I have to struggle to focus my eyes cause I'm to close to the action its not cool, Just pan back man its not hard. Dam that really annoys me. I don't want to feel like I'm in the fight, I want to see it god dammit.
Other then that the movie was really well done. Ohh and one thing i did notice Its seems like Bumble Bee is going the Legolas route. What i mean is, he does one really cool thing in each movie that makes you go "dam he's badass" And why he still can't talk is beyond me I guess its just a gimmick for cheap laughs.

Most of the haters of this movie are over thinking it too much. All this movie is, and was ever supposed to be was a popcorn flick for the masses. I mean when it comes down to it, it is based on a cartoon who's only reason for existing was to sell toys to little boys. So what the hell do you want out of it McBeth

Couldn't have put it better myself. People need to relax and take it for what it is.

Well darthstern ill try to break it down for ya, at least why i was disappointed, i cant speak for anyone else. Firsyt off, im tired of the "what were you expecting..shakespear?" type remarks. Obviously the answer is No! I was expecting a movie about giant robots kicking the shit out of each other..and i got that. But i also got American Pie 4: Megan says i love you first. For every Prime punch, there was a jetfire fart, every "Baysplosion" a slow motion puke fest complete with piss ant rock ballads. Transformers is not a comedy. The first movie worked, this didnt.

Ror... I feel so bad for you. I understand what you're saying about it. It seems like you were really looking forward to this movie and got really disappointed.(Like when I saw the Wonder Woman animated dvd movie) They say they are making the 3rd one now so maybe they will do better. =) Hope you cheer up.

ror I get what your saying and i do see a lot of faults with the movie dont get me wrong but maybe i went into thinking it was going to be horrible and i was pleasently surprised. With all the bad reviews it got (especially on this sight) i really thought it was going to be unwatchable. maybe its a case of not believing the unhype. And i think you got to see it first, being from the land of my fathers, why it came out in europe first i never get and it was kind of strage that it did must have been a money thing. I try not to read reviews of a movie before i see it cause i think it will influence how i judge it but with this one i broke my rule and maybe it influenced me twords lieing it more i dont know i still say its the second best movie of the summer so far that is

Ror you're always sayin transformers is not a comedy but have you seen any of the newer cartoons that have come out over the past decade or so. I'm not gona say the humour was great in the movie, it was dumb an you'd have to be about 12 to really find it funny (bar a couple jokes, own opinion). That being said all the newer animated versions of transformers are packed full with loads of stupid humour directed at 4 year olds, its actually much worse it's insanely bad. All Bays talk of the twins being for the kids made me think they were gona be infleuenced more by the newer cartoons. Seriously just imagine if they kept the target audience to wee kids instead of uping it to teenagers, this film could easily have been much much worse.

Not sayin your opinions are wrong, would be with very happy to hear the next film was gona be pure action with no love story or immature humour (But loved this film, kicked ass regardless, own opinion).

Im not against humor in a movie thats not strictly a comedy, obviously if its done right it makes action movies especially better..but it wasnt done right!

I really enjoyed the movie and I agree with Darth, but I also agree with Ror. There was shit in it that didn't belong and Bay and the writers need to realize that it is an action movie. It's not a Comedy Action movie, or a Coction flick! The movie was great, and as hot as Megan Fox and Isabel Lucas are, it could have done just fine without them. They are eye candy, not actresses. Not to sound gay, but I think in the third movie they should leave the ladies out of it entirely or just have them in nonspeaking roles. Megan Fox isn't going to bring people to the movies. Giant ass kicking effing robots are going to do that. And not to sound gay or anything, but Unicrons really kick ass!

They do, but that's why I would have them in non-speaking eye candy roles. That's what they are good at, looking good. They are not good at acting.
