With the season 2 premiere of Amazon Prime's hit animated series Invincible nearing, more details about the anticipated season, along with the series as a whole from creator Robert Kirkman are now being disclosed.

The true villain of Invincible season 2 has been confirmed to be none other than the character of Angstrom Levy - known by readers of the Invincible comic series, who we have just received a first look of in the animated series.

“He'll be a new villain that comes into the series. And if you've read the comics, you're aware of who he is and what his deal is. He's a villain that has access to multiple dimensions, and so it's another one of those dang multiverse things.” - Robert Kirkman, Inverse

The villain will be voiced by actor Sterling K. Brown, whose performance has went on to be significantly praised by Kirkman:

"What Sterling has been able to wring out of our scripts is something real and vibrant and genuine. A true villain, with a solid core of understanding that makes him as sympathetic and relatable as he is dangerous and terrifying." - Robert Kirkman

In the pages of the Invincible comics, Levy's reasoning for wanting to destroy Invincible falls in the fact that the hero caused the fierce explosion which disfigured the villain's head in the first place.

Much is to be awaited in anticipation of seeing these two superpowered figures clash, so are you excited to see Invincible go head-to-head with Angstrom Levy in Invincible season 2?

Seventeen-year-old Mark Grayson is just like every guy his age, except that his father is Omni-Man, the most powerful superhero on the planet. As Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers his father's legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.

Part 1 of Invincible season 2 will debut on Prime Video on Nov. 3, with part 2 coming in early 2024.

Invincible is an adult animated superhero television series created by Robert Kirkman for Amazon Prime Video and premiered on March 25, 2021. Based on the Image Comics series of the same name by Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, the show follows 17-year-old Mark Grayson and his transformation into a superhero under the guidance of his father Omni-Man, the most powerful superhero on the planet. During his transformation, Mark finds himself struggling between his personal life and superhero duties, where he will be forced to prove that he can be the hero that his father is.

The series stars Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, and J. K. Simmons as the Grayson family, while the rest of the cast serve as recurring characters.

@Taonrey - sweet. I'm not trying to cast any doubt, just addressing what a good villain Omni-Man was and how hard to follow that will be.

Haven't there been enough villains with their big brains on the outside of their head by now?

@Taonrey - and to top it off, much of the cast is homages to preexistent things. It's basically just their takes on those things.

Ugh. Multiverse. Gross. That said it is handled fine in invincible and it’s a contained story, not some boring saga that is drawn out for multiple phases over a decade where everyone loses interest and just wants it to end and we all hope for the reboot that never seems to be coming and all of the old characters and actors we actually cared about are gone and we don’t even like the new ones. Or something like that.
