This movie version of
The Boys is certainly getting attention. First
A Nightmare On Elm St director Sam Bayer says he would love to direct, now actors who have read the script are looking for parts and the movie hasn't even been greenlit yet. Its a good sign that the script at least is a strong one anyway.
Talking to The Flickcast about his new sci-fi comedy
Hot Tub Time Machine, Rob Corddry said the following..
TF: If there was one project that you wish you could do, moving forward, what would it be?
RC: I want to play a rock star, though I think I'm getting too old for that. I want to play a baseball player, and I want to play a super hero. I probably won't get the chance to do any of that, except for the baseball player. I have a baseball player's body. I just read a script based on a comic book called The Boys, which is great, and I just loved it.
I'm sure there are plenty of parts in there for 30-40 aged males, so hopefully there will be something.
You might recognize Corddry from numerous small parts in TV comedies like
Curb Your Enthusiasm and
Arrested Development as well as films like
Old School and
Blades Of Glory. He was also a regular correspondent on
The Daily Show with John Stewart. I'm not sure he fits any of the main characters in
The Boys, but there are lots of asshole Supes he would be great for!(No offense Rob:). His Hot Tub co star John Cusack has expressed interest in Garth Ennis's
Preacher in the past, maybe these guys have set up an Ennis movie adap fan club or something!..or a funnier speculation.
Here's a red band clip for Hot Tub..(Warning, bag language..and blurred out boobies..sorry Tea:()
