ARROW Boss Says 'Diggle' Isn't GREEN LANTERN Because WB Has "Plans" For 'John Stewart'
The theory that David Ramsey's John Diggle might end up being Green Lantern John Stewart continues, but Marc Guggenheim has now put that to bed for good. However, he does drop a few hints about other Arrow characters being revealed as someone else from the comics...
When Arrow star David Ramsey recently said that "anything can happen" in regards to Diggle being revealed as John Stewart somewhere down the line, speculation about what could be in store for his character began anew. When MTV News caught up with executive producer Marc Guggenheim recently, he put an end to those theories once and for all. "It’s funny, I’ve spoken to David quite a bit about this issue, I know it keeps coming up. I spoke to [writer] Geoff Johns at DC after that interview went viral. Basically, John Diggle is now a character in the comics… John Diggle is John Diggle. We’re not being coy and saying John Diggle is someone else, i.e. John Stewart. DC has other plans for that character. We love David, and we love the character of John Diggle that he’s created. We have really cool plans for him… they involve a wedding ring, but they don’t involve a power ring." Does this mean John Stewart will be the DC Cinematic Universe's Green Lantern?
That might be a stretch, but it's certainly possible that they would choose him over Hal Jordan for Justice League and the character's next solo outing. While Diggle is just Diggle then, Guggenheim did drop a very intriguing hint about other members of the Arrow cast who could end up being revealed as a character from the comic books. Two to be exact! "There are two characters who would probably fall into that category. Were we to do it, they would be characters from the comics that you already know." What do you guys think?
