CW Seed Launching VIXEN Animated Series Set In The World Of ARROW And FLASH

Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim is working on an animated superhero series starring Vixen and it will be set in the same world as Arrow and The Flash. The show will air on The CW's digital-only network, CW Seed this Fall.

The CW is closing out the Winter 2015 TCA's today and one interesting tidbit coming out of the Arrow panel is that Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim is currently developing a new animated superhero show that will be set in the same world as Stephen Amell's Arrow and Grant Gustin's Flash.  Will this animated series serve as a precursor to the live-action introduction of Vixen to the DCTV universe?

The CW Seed is The CW’s digital-only network. It’s where we blur the line between television and the web and experiment with high-quality original series in smaller sizes. Basically, it’s where we go digging for what’s next.

The Flash costume looks good animated wise too. I'd say even better than the live action one.

If this is a success, the CW could bring back Young Justice.

That Flash costume looks great!

I wonder if Vixen will be in Birds of Prey with Canary, Felicity and Huntress.

This seems like a big middle finger to Cartoom Network, what with a Vixen animated series and a Bruce Timm Justice League mini series later this year.

Good, [frick] Cartoon Network for their terrible handling of DC's animated shows. They can keep Teen Titans Go.

While i have no problem with an animated Vixen show, heck even a Vixen show in general. But the thing that i don't understand is. Why not do a live action Vixen show if this is sett in the Arrow/Flash Universe?

Hopefully, it could also serve as a way to bring brack characters that they only use once or twice per season more often (thinking the Suicide Squad, Huntress, and probably others. Works for vilains too.). Also, Arrow looks kinda skinny here lol But feels good to see the Young Justice art style.

@Emblemmaniac they probably don't think the character is strong enough to stand on her own? They could just as easily pull the CWSeed show and not make a huge fuss...but canceling a live action show set in the Arrow/Flash universe would cause a much larger stir...especially in that universe overall... and this is a very very interesting thing to do...especially if they chose to bring her on later as a live action character

@ABetterTomorrow that was my question as well

If this does well hopefully Black Lightning will be next. Seeing Jefferson Pierce as BL would be great. Plus throw in his daughters Anissa and Jennifer too and then you will have an awesome father/daughters show. I think having Thunder and Lightning on the show would really raise the stakes.

This is a cool idea, but I would rather have a live-action Vixen appear on Arrow and The Flash.

I think it's a cool idea that they're having a live-action series and an animated series connected. This allows for much more like being able to bring in cool characters without actually being on the live-action show because of budgets.

I hope this doesn't rule out a cameo on the live action show

CW seed is probably how CW solve budget problem to hire, add new characters and cgi into the live action series and turn the characters into animation form.

Wonder if Vixen will be mentioned in the live action series.
