With Team Arrow in dire need of some... well, team members, Oliver Queen may be very lucky to find that he has a friend in Echo Kellum's Curtis Holt. As seen in the Comic-Con sizzle reel, Curtis will be joining Oliver in his mission in the show's upcoming fifth season. "You're going to see him fail and keep striving," Kellum explained. "There's something about Curtis that's very driven. I think you'll see some of the hurdles he'll have to pass. You'll see that his drive really pushes him through everything. Whether it was the Olympics or now getting into the field with Team Arrow, I think it's going to be a really fun journey."
Season 4 saw Curtis as a tech support expert, helping prevent Damien Darhk's atomic weapons for obliterating Star City. Showrunner Wendy Mericle previously likened Curtis and his strengths to Cisco Ramon, something that Kellum supports. "In a sense, yeah. They have differences, but the team definitely won't have to outsource their tech needs to S.T.A.R. Labs."
Of course, with Felicity being removed as CEO of PalmerTech, Curtis' role at his job is still up in the air, something that being a member of Team Arrow could further cmomplicate. "Curtis is in flux, professionally, right now. He loved his boss, he loved his CEO. He is loyal, he's still an active worker, I think Curtis still works there, but we haven't talked about it. I feel like it might be a solidarity thing, like, if Felicity is gone, then I'm gone too. Maybe."
The biggest question is when we will finally see Curtis become Mister Terrific, and it looks like fans will finally see the DC hero make his in-costume debut before the winter break. "The mask is happening this year," Kellum declared. "You can definitely expect it in the first nine."
