Marc Guggenheim Comments On The Future Of 'Connor Hawke' In ARROW

Season two of Arrow shocked fans when it revealed that Oliver Queen has a son - presumably Connor Hawke - who he knows nothing about. He was then referenced in season three's crossover with The Flash, but are we going to see Red Arrow in The CW series? Hit the jump for details...

Flashbacks in season two of Arrow revealed that Moira Queen paid off one of Oliver's girlfriends (who had fallen pregnant) to move to Central City and tell the future vigilante that she had lost the baby. We later found out that she was happily bringing that child up, and while him entering the show and following in the footsteps of his comic book counterpart is still a fair few seasons away, it doesn't look like the show is planning that any time soon despite speculation from fans.

Addressing a question on his Tumblr page (via Spoiler TV) Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed that there are no current plans to address Connor Hawke, now...or ever! Things could always change of course, but chances are that the team working on the series just don't think it would be that intersting to focus on Oliver fighting custody battles and the like. In the comics, Connor took up the mantle of Green Arrow when his father was believed dead, and is among the world's greatest martial artists and archers. He's also gone under the Red Arrow alias.

Then why even make it a plot point in the show?

I personally would prefer to see Cissie King-Jones or Mia Dearden show up.

They could easily introduce him in Legends of Tomorrow since... time travel and stuff

makes sense to not address his son taking up the mantle or being a sidekick anytime soon since he is pretty young. be cool if there was an episode that takes place in the future or some time travel involved where they can bring him in.

yeah you could easily address connor hawke in Legends of Tomorrow and I'm so shocked that this show is not using the chance to let another character use a bow and arrow everyone already runs around starling city with one

Another plot point arrow will never address like captain boomerang, deadshot, etc. This show is going down hill fast they should just throw in batman to get the attention back on it because the flash has outdone arrow on it's first season

I'd say he means right now he is not gonna be addressed...Connor didnt appear til way later on in Green Arrow's history anyway, have to actually have Ollie become more like the Green Arrow of the comics and go through a bit more, before hes fit to be a parent

to be honest, I can see WB doing a potential Green Arrow movie after the current run of movies, in 2021. So if Arrow is still on by that point (and you may laugh at this...but look at CW's track record, 10 years of Smallville and 10 so far of Supernatural), maybe they have Connor Hawke seek out his father in Season 8 or 9

Then when the potential Green Arrow movie is about to be released, WB does their usual we cant have a tv and movie version of one character (except for the Flash for some reason), then they can kill off Amell's Green Arrow and Connor can take over for a potential Season 9 or 10. meaning the show continues with a different Green Arrow, shakes up the show and we get another version of Ollie in the movies..just an idea

@BlackIceJoe
We have Arrow's version of Mia already, its Thea and thats the way its gonna be

It would be cool to see a full grown Connor Hawke but since he's just kid he's not all that interesting.

Maybe they can bring him in on Legends of Tomorrow. They do have a time traveler on their squad.

Conner hawke is supposed to be biracial. Oh wait they made a minority character white. No biggie.

yeah, because there is no obvious skin tone to that girl in the above picture...

its also a shame to change this obviously black character white...

Since Legends of Tomorrow is a time travel show why not have him there?
Tevii
Tevii - 6/25/2015, 8:48 AM
With Rip Hunter and Flash being able to Time Travel they could easily have him appear on Arrow and meet his dad, then become a series regular on Legends of Tomorrow and act as Arrow on that show.
