Ra's al Ghul Confirmed as ARROW Season 3's Big Bad!

Very exciting news guys! After yesterday's Arrow Season 3 trailer, The Hollywood Reporter has unveiled that Ra's al Ghul will indeed be the big bad for the Third Season!

"Oliver Queen and Co. will be up against one of the most prolific DC villains ever: Ra's al Ghul. The big surprise was revealed Saturday evening during DC Entertainment/Warner Bros. TV's three-hour extravaganza, hosted by Arrow's own Stephen Amell, in the cavernous Hall H. For the team behind Arrow, getting Ra's al Ghul to actually appear in the Starling City universe was in the works for awhile."

Arrow's executive Producer Mark Guggenheim explains the process of slowly integrating The Demon's Head into the show:

It really happened very organically in the sense that we had this notion that in episode 16 we were going to reveal that Malcolm Merlyn was trained by the League of Assassins and that's because of the comic book. We were like, you know what we're going to do? We're going to get away with a little reference about a guy in Nanda Parbat who changed his life," executive producer Marc Guggenheim told a handful of reporters Saturday, "That was just the beginning,"

Ted Grant, Wildcat, is coming to #Arrow. He'll have some interaction with Laurel.

@GreenOliverQueen On Stephen Ammel's Facebook, there was a photo of Green Arrow in a boxing ring. One can only assume that would be alluding to Ted Grant. That would make sense considering he trained Black Canary in the comics and Kate Cassidy has been working out.

Green Arrow doesn't have iconic villains. Get over it.

This seems...unlike anything arrow has done in past seasons. Normally they save the main villain for the end of episode 9, so this may be misdirection...but still...RAS AL GHUL VS GREEN ARROW!

There so many batman related characters on the show didn't bother me until now. How are you going to have one of batman mains show up and he can't even get a guest appearance.

Ra's, huh?

Well, damn.

That's awesome, don't get me wrong, but the villains from both season one and two of Arrow were baddies that had never hit the screen in live-action before (or at least, not in any CREDIBLE form... the Deathstroke that appeared on Smallville was f%$#ing laughable). But Liam Neeson NAILED the role of Ra's al Ghul in Batman Begins, and whoever they cast to play the part here, there's no way he can live up to Liam-freaking-Neeson...

But hell, Arrow hasn't disappointed me yet, so I'm more than willing to see where this all goes! (Besides, it's not like we're not gonna get a billion OTHER supervillain guest stars over the next twenty-three episodes...That's just how Arrow roles!)

Will they reference Batman in some way? Is it like TDK Trilogt and is Ra''s train Bruce as well in this universe?? Curious. Or has he encountered him. Easter EEG like Hawt Quinn coming?? Can't wait!

I wasn't expecting Ra's al Ghul at all this season! I thought Malcom Merlyn was supposed to be the big bad of season 3.

He looked badass from what was shown! It also looks like Starling City will be renamed to "Star City."

Interesting. Despite if eh motives, they did good with how they handled Deathstroke and even Merlyn had an intriguing motive so I presume he'll be the villain because, well, he's enraged at all his little plans being thwarted. Hope an Arab-English actor is cast.
