Stephen Amell Teases THE FLASH/ARROW Crossover With On-Set Photo

It's been a busy day for Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin, who portray Oliver Queen/Green Arrow and Barry Allen/The Flash, respectively, on the CW's superhero shows, as the two have been filming a crossover episode! Hit the jump to check out a new photo from Amell himself.

Back in July, the CW announced it would be crossing over its two DC Comics-based television series, with episode 8 of both Arrow S3 and The Flash S1 making up a two-hour special. Well, it looks like filming of the double-ep took place today, as Arrow star Stephen Amell shared a photo of him in his costume with Grant Gustin (the Flash). Granted, it's only a section of their costumes, but still. Are you looking forward to the crossover?

Sweet - we need more TV shows from DC now for a TV universe. I want to see Booster Gold next! Introduce him in an episode on one show.

I don't like The Flash being shared with Arrow. Don't like Arrow because it butcher's the character of Oliver Queen / Green Arrow and the show tries to make the character to much like "Batman". Where is Green Arrow's charm and wit?

The Flash's costume looks good but i'm sure the DCCU Flash's costume will look better.

@MightyZeus I agree. Incidentally, I watched Batman Begins a few days before Arrow started. And when I watched the first few season of Arrow I couldn't help by feel Deja Vu. The storyline, the tone, and Oliver himself seem to be derived from Batman Begins.

I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I just seems like DC's trying to make all of their heroes more like Batman. Even Superman who's supposed to be the antithesis of Batman.

@HAILHYDRA and @MightyZeus Good God Man, know your comic book history Green Arrow was created as a substitute for Batman even in the comics they share villains. Merlin for example first appeared in a Batman comic.

@Dmon, Green Arrow is one of my favorite heroes in the DC universe. The character of Green Arrow is not meant to be a carbon copy of Batman. Green Arrow has charisma, wit and has a lighter side, Green Arrow is not mean to be too dark. Also there's too many Batman villains in the show.

@MightyZeus BS every villain that people would assume are Batman Villains are actually cross over villains. Like I said before Merlin for example started off in Batman comics but later became a major villain in Green Arrow comics. It is not like Joker or Penguin has been on the show. The only villain that has been exclusively a Batman villain from the comics would be Firefly but even he could have appeared in other comics that I missed.

Green Arrow was created as an alternate to Batman but since you will not believe me this is from Wiki:
At the time of his debut, Green Arrow functioned in many ways as an archery-themed analogue of the very popular Batman character. Green Arrow and Speedy first appeared in More Fun Comics #73 (cover-dated November 1941), which was illustrated by artist George Papp. When Mort Weisinger was creating the character, aside from the obvious allusions to Robin Hood, he took inspiration from a movie serial, The Green Archer, based on the novel by Edgar Wallace. He retooled the concept into a superhero archer with obvious Batman influences.These include Green Arrow's sidekick Speedy, his use of an Arrow-Car and Arrow-Plane for transportation, his use of an Arrow-Cave as his headquarters, his alter ego as a billionaire playboy, the use of an Arrow-Signal to summon him, as well as a clown-like arch foe named Bull's Eye, similar to Batman's arch-foe, the Joker. At the time of his debut, Green Arrow functioned in many ways as an archery-themed analogue of the very popular Batman character.

And thank god he is not the Liberal he is in the comics because the show would be too polarizing and I doubt the ratings would be as good. I always collected his comics because he was the best friend of Hal Jordan (my favorite CB character) and because I collected every DC title. (I now get digital). And the only way I could usually stomach his liberalism was when Hal was there to counter his arguments. And though there were some great old story arcs I did like, I find the New 52 and the Arrow versions of the character much more enjoyable.

@Dmon

The show is still terrible and still butcher's the character of Green Arrow.
