JERI RYAN GUEST STARS; INTRODUCING ECHO KELLUM — When an old family friend, Jessica Danforth (guest star Jeri Ryan), tells Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Thea (Willa Holland) that she is going to run for mayor, both Queens are concerned considering the last three mayors have been murdered. Despite their protests, Jessica makes her announcement so the Green Arrow and Speedy vow to protect her. Meanwhile, Thea begins to exhibit effects from the Lazarus Pit. In addition, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is faced with a tough business decision and looks to one of her employees, Curtis Holt (guest star Echo Kellum), for help. John Behring directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Keto Shimizu (#402).

After defeating his most formidable foe to date and riding off into the sunset with longtime flame Felicity Smoak, Oliver Queen (a.k.a. The Arrow) left Starling City with the hopes of beginning a new life. But will Oliver ever truly be able to leave behind his past as the Arrow, and, if so, what becomes of the team he has worked so hard to assemble? Will Diggle, Thea, and Laurel be left to continue Oliver’s crusade without him? And with Malcolm Merlyn having ascended to the top of the League of Assassins as the new Ra's al Ghul, is anyone really safe?

Tonight's episode showed why Arrow is still the best show out there

I loved the lighter color tones used in this episode! Glad their moving out of the Nolan-verse shadow and moving towards the Green Arrow color tones in the comics! Also more Coast City visits will be nice. Even if the transformation and news about Green Lantern is alluded to in the background, would be amazing.

That Hal Jordan reference actually made everyone in my living room cheer. We went back to watch again.

We finally got Green Arrow and Star City, and it only took us four seasons.

Pretty meh to me. Fight scenes has improved by a very small scale, acting and dialogues were horrible as usual. Too much unnecessary cheese. Toooooooooooooo much romance, ruined it for me.

Pacing wasn't great too. At one point, we are getting jokes and romance, and the next second we getting a scene where someone gets killed.

The in team feud was tad boring, could have done it better. Ollie just kidnapped Lyla and all Diggle did was to be grumpy on him? Break his nose, break his face.

Damien Dakh was the only positive, and the reason I am sticking with this series. At the least, plot seems promising. The Flashback was interesting too. Ollie is back to his island.Yay!!!

Between this and Flash, Flash had a much better premiere. But AoS topped them all

@Jollem: As good as Arrow? Nah. I hope they don't.

They already much better. It was Daredevil, AoS is already miles better than Arrow too. The only DC show that has a potential to sustain the competition is Flash, which as good as AoS

MoS is far behind the leagues of those masterpieces you have put together with. As much as I love MoS, putting it on the leagues of Dark Knight Trilogy is blasphemy.

TWS was as great as TDK. Loved TDK for the hero, but villain wasn't lacking behind either. Loved TDK due to Joker and....Joker.

I can't believe people spent all of yesterday calling Flash's premiere sloppy and today calling Arrow something of a masterpiece.

THIS was a sloppy premiere episode. And the Flash plugs are annoying.

Shit premiere, as expected from this show. The Jordan reference was more offensive than actually fun considering we're getting Jay Garrick on the Flash and Gorrilla Grodd's and we're still stuck with professional douche-bag Oliver Queen fighting all of Batman's C-listers.

@Jollem: I won't bitch about your Marvel hate, but calling MoS a masterpiece and putting it on the leagues of Dark Knight Trilogy? No wonder people call you a troll.

Ho-hum Marvel vs DC arguement again...ANYWAY glad to see Arrow back to form, whoever dies in the next 6 months the mystery and build up will be great. Fingers crossed it's Felicity.

It was an okay episode, much better than that highly disappointing Flash premiere, but I thought the premieres of AoS and Gotham were loads better. But great to finally see Green Arrow defending Star City.

@Nitric

Slade gave it to him 2nd season, after he found out about Olivers role in Shado's death. He gave it to him as a reminder of fear and despair and to mark them as enemies
