GOTHAM: Apparently A Potential 'Joker' Will Be Teased In Every Episode

Now this is interesting. Although much has been made of actor Jon Beavers' appearance as a stand-up comedian in the pilot of Fox's Batman prequel series, it seems that was just one of many possible Jokers that'll be introduced as the series progresses.

We all speculated that the comedian seen doing his routine in Fish Mooney's club in the pilot of Gotham could well become the Joker further down the line, but it seems Jon Beavers is just one of many actors who'll be featured as a potential clown prince of crime in each of the following episodes. Bleeding Cool have heard that "every episode in the first season will introduce a character that might be a future Joker, each emphasising aspects of the character’s iconography, a card sharp, a flower seller, a clown, or just a guy with a very big grin." Apparently all will be relatively unknown actors, but one of them will indeed emerge as Batman's most infamous foe, the Joker. Something tells me it won't be this first dude anyway! What do you guys think of this idea?

[frick]ing jezzus. Just don't. This is a terrible idea. Not everybody in Gotham City is going to be a retarded psychopath like The Joker you know... -_-

So they'll see which actor the audiences respond to most positively, probably a smart move...

Could be a cool idea.... but it ALSO sounds like a a sad way to milk the character. Guess we will see

Nomi- I've gotta read that again sometime. It's been a few years.

Great f*ckin' story.

If done right it could be very clever. This way the viewers will not know if this or that person will become The Joker..or the real one may turn out to be none of them. Very cool in theory, can the show make it work? Worth a try.
Does everyone want som bland formulaic run of the mill intro to the Joker? I like this creative take.

Lol, sounds like fun. I just hope they don't over do it.

SMART! Very smart! With them already having young Penguin, Catwoman, and possibly Riddler, having an actual early Joker is too much. But the idea that it could be ANYONE is perfect.

Wow, disgrace to the character. Way to water him down. Have a dozen guys dance on Heath Ledger's grave? Now anyone can play the Joker? What a joke. This show is going to suck.

That's actually an interesting idea since the Joker's backstory is up in the air ("why not multiple choice?"). Also, no one is "shitting on Heath Ledger's grave". It's not HIS character, the character is bigger than the actor. Get over it.

@MyloSteamwitz But the Joker has an origin. We just don't know what it is. This way, they can do the Joker (or not, because it might not be any of the people teased at) and still preserve his sense of mystery.

Seems like a huge gimmick. I am extremely skeptical of this show. I really don't like the concept. I am sick of all of these "comic book tv shows" that don't have any superheroes in them. I will watch the first episode, but it will have to blow me away to get me to keep watching.

Nomi- Yeah, man.

I usually go through those, along with The Man Who Falls. I mean, it's a short story- only one issue.. but it's brilliant.

Everything's in that one, y'know? The monastery, joining up with the FBI, Ducard...

There's nothing quite like that one.

TheBuoyWonder - 7/15/2014, 7:19 AM
That's a pretty clever idea.
Although it'd be even better if they had the same actor play each of these characters.
That way when the joker comes we don't know which character he was.
But this is still pretty awesome.
