GOTHAM KNIGHTS Star Misha Collins Says Harvey Dent Won't Become Two-Face During The Show's First Season

Misha Collins (Supernatural) has commented on his role as Harvey Dent in The CW's Gotham Knights pilot, revealing that the plan is to actually introduce Two-Face during the show's eventual second season.

Gotham Knights is a new series from The CW that looks set to follow Batman's son as he teams up with the children of the Caped Crusader's greatest enemies...after they're framed for the hero's murder. Yes, Batman will be dead in this reality, meaning the network is developing another project set in Gotham City without its Dark Knight.

The CW is currently gearing up to shoot Gotham Knights' pilot episode, and we recently learned that Supernatural alum Misha Collins will play Harvey Dent in the series.

However, in another major departure from the comic books, this Harvey won't have become Two-Face during Bruce Wayne's stint protecting Gotham. Instead, it sounds like we'll get a lengthy origin story for the villain that establishes him as a foe to these teenagers looking to pick up where Batman left off.

Talking during a Q&A panel at the "SPN Indy Convention" (via Screen Rant), Collins elaborated on his Gotham Knights role. "I can tell you that I'm playing Harvey Dent, which is a character from the Batman universe, who becomes Two-Face. Warner Bros. seems to be putting a lot into the pilot, it’s great, it seems like it has a great team behind it. For example, our costume designer did The Handmaid’s Tale, like really top-shelf people on the project."

"If it gets picked up and turned into a series – which would be really cool – my character will be Harvey Dent for the whole first year, so I have a nice long stretch of not being two-faced. And then I become Two-Face! Yeah, I’m looking forward to it and I’ll be the old person on the show!"

Collins is actually a great choice to play this character, so we're intrigued to see where the show takes Two-Face. There's no guarantee it will move beyond the pilot stage (Green Arrow and the Canaries didn't), but we're definitely keeping a close eye on what happens with this one.

Just having him as Harvey Dent is pretty cool, but him probably becoming Two-Face without having Bruce or Batman around not so much

Makes sense to me. Two Face without the context of who he was as Harvey Dent before hand doesn’t work so well

Who are they kidding? I'm fully expecting the S1 finale to reveal that Batman is actually still alive and kicking, yet without actually showing him (in pure CW fashion)

So this is basically a CW version of the video game that was announced a couple years ago, right? But with the addition that a bunch of Batman's villains probably haven't actually become villains yet? So it's basically a show about Batman's protégés following in the footsteps of a far less accomplished Batman, right?

Is this part of the same continuity as Batgirl too? Isn't Batman dead in that as well?

Lots of questions, dunno if I'll stick around and wait for any answers, kinda lost interest in the CW stuff after Crisis and the Arrow finale. Misha seems like a good choice for Harvey though so if I hear good things about the show I might give it a shot.

If he's revealing that key detail then it mustn't be nothing close to other much more juicy and spoiler details about his take on Two-Face and anything else. And they could be drawing some unknown/obscure parts of the character's story with this.

I'm getting that basically Harvey will be an x-factor during the 1st Season.
