Sounds Like SPOILER Is Coming To GOTHAM - Is An ARROW Crossover Possible?

Of course it's unlikely given the different networks, but if you watched Gotham last night you'll no doubt have picked up on the mention of a certain DC Comics character who's also popped up on the CW's Arrow. Click on for more..

In last night's second episode of Gotham, it's made pretty clear that The Dollmaker is the villain behind the kidnapping of various homeless children in the city. Although the character doesn't actually appear, it's surely only a matter of time before he makes his presence felt in future episodes. Fans of the CW's Arrow will be aware that the Dollmaker also showed up on that show in a second season episode, and was played by Michael Eklund. Could they be the same character?

Well, though DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. are behind both of these shows, they are on different networks and are (presumably) set in different timelines, since Bruce Wayne is just a child and Oliver Queen is well into his crime-fighting career. That being said, it’s not unheard of for networks to cross two shows over, and we know that Arrow's Dollmaker terrorized the city long before returning to give Queen a headache. Of course they may not even be different takes on the same character, as the Dollmaker moniker has been taken on by 3 separate villains in the DC Universe.

But even if they are never explicitly stated as being the same Dollmaker and different actors plat the roles, it's always possible that some rough continuity will exist or at least be hinted at. What do you guys think?

Guess we'll have to wait and see if these two show's will be set in the same universe but i highly doubt it.

Arrow-Gotham crossover will never happen, they exist in different times. Аrrow is so obviously present day and Gotham is amalgam of many era's, like Batman TAS.

Not really its the thing dc is known for where they have several versions of a character in a short amount of time with no relation to each to either one across or within the same/different mediums.

How could an Arrow crossover be possible ? Gotham is an elseworld/"what if" story, intentionally set in a vague timeline, while Arrow looks and feels distinctively modern.

They would not mesh at all imho.

The first episode of Gotham was good. Last night's was awful. I had to turn it off. Everything was ridiculous-acting, music, script. Having Kyle scratch out that guys eyes was just too much and it seems like Alfred is contractually obligated to say "arse" each episode...well, 2 for 2.

Both shows have network TV production values. In this age of HBO, AMC, Showtime, etc., the poor quality really shows.

I'm afraid that the two universes actually do co-exist. Go to the 22:50 mark of 'Selina Kyle' and pay attention to the city sweep transition. The Queen Consolidated logo burns brightly on one of the buildings.

Y'all really need to stop wishing for WB to connect everything. I know y'all want them like Marvel (which would be cool), but forget about it. It just won't happen.

The day WB allows DC to have some sort of control over their characters, then you can wish for things like this.

Gotham may be one of the dumbest ideas for a comic book TV show ever, but it's got quadruple the ratings of pitiful Arrow. To crossover with that show could only help Arrow. Arrow has no audience to give Gotham and actually showing Arrow on Gotham could drive away Gotham viewers.

Not happening.

The Dollmakers of the New 52 are father & son. So it's quite easy to have the father on Gotham, & the son on Arrow (which they did).

Gotham and Arrow connected? I can honestly confirm that will never happen. If they were connected and by the time Bruce becomes Batman, Oliver and The Flash would be old.

@Superior

I haven't seen anything that puts the show squarely in 2014. No smart phones or lap tops are displayed.I don't even think the internet is a factor on the show. Look at the GCPD station,you don't see flat screen monitors.

I think everything is at flip phone tech level which seems to place the show at a mid to late 90's time frame.

All they have to do to tie this to Arrow is mention Starling City,Central City,Robert Queen or Queen industries in a throw away line to tie this into the Arrow/Flash verse.

Even though the creators don't have permission to use him, I would definitely say that Batman does exist in the same universe as Arrow. So based off of that thought, I would say he's been Batman a little bit longer than Oliver Queen's been Arrow. Bruce Wayne is 12 at the start of Gotham, so I'd put him at about 35-45 if he were to ever show up on Arrow. So I would say Gotham starts off somewhere in the range of 23-33 years before where Arrow's at right now. Dollmaker on Arrow is in his 50s, so it wouldn't be too unbelievable for there to 20-something Dollmaker on Gotham who is just a younger version of the same character. They wouldn't have to explicitly state it's the same person either, because Michael Eklund wouldn't be cast as Dollmaker anyway. So even though it's definitely possible for this to be considered the same guy, I doubt this will be some kind of official crossover with Gotham. People must remember, if this show is a prequel to Batman, then it's basically a prequel to any DC show set in the modern day (Arrow, Flash, Constantine, Supergirl, Teen Titans), so I wouldn't look for any crossovers between Gotham and another show.

@Dotanuki

I agree that the eye gouging bit was a bit over the top. Scratching the guys face would have been ok and made her point about fighting off a bigger attacker,but goughing out both the man's eyes seems to go beyond a defensive reaction to try and escape and into the realm of brutality for shock value.

Besides,when caught,Selina doesn't have bloody hands which seems to be an attempt not to have her come off as a little maniac and preserve her innocence.

I don't understand why such a girl who could tear out a mans eyes would then meekly submit to capture right after that instead of clawing,biting and kicking until she was knocked out or shot dead.

If you want to say Selina surrendered out of being a survivor,then it makes her eye gouging less an act of fear or desperation and more one of wanton cruelty just to show what she is capable of.

Look, if you want to make Selina has a vicious side then go for it, but don't treat such behavior almost like it was a joke with an almost "You got me guys" look on her face after tearing a man's eyes out.

Dollmaker? AGAIN?!?

Why does DC Entertainment think we want to see MORE of this guy? It was bad enough making this lame non-starter of a villain the main antagonist of the first storyarc in the New-52 Detective Comics relaunch, and WORSE having him show up on Arrow (before being thankfully killed off at the end of the episode)... but now they're cramming him into Gotham?

That show has enough problems without being weighed down by a pathetic also-ran like Dollmaker. ESPECIALLY since, from the sound of it, he's gonna be some kind of ongoing threat! This is like making Paste-Pot Pete the main villain of a Fantastic Four movie...

How to tie Gotham to Arrow? Have Robert Queen (played by Jamey Sheridan in Arrow) show up in gotham for some Wayne Enterprizes business. And have a young Oliver run in with young Bruce. THAT'S IT! No need to go further than that.
