Fox Cancels Human Target

Fox Cancels Human Target

Despite a massive push on the part of the fan base and the show's cast and crew, it seems that Christopher Chance's adventures have come to an end.

As recently as WonderCon in San Francisco, Mark Valley, Jackie Earle Haley and other cast members and producers did their best to get the word out about Human Target on Fox in the hopes that the show would be renewed for a third season. Unfortunately Deadline is reporting that the show has been canceled.

The Human Target was a good show! It reminded me a lot of the good ol' shows from the '90s that I loved so much- most of which were incidently SYNDICATED. Renegade, Highlander, Forever Knight, The Sentinel.

Did it get better after the first season? I thought it was adequate, like a show I could watch and enjoy, but it wasn't something I really went out of my way to see.

Which is why I haven't seen any of Season 2.

That's BS.They cancel Human Target, which ended it's season with 8.1M viewers and 2.3 in the 18-49 demo, but they renew Fringe, which ended it's season with 3.3M viewers and 1.2 in the 18-49 demo.

Not to mention Raising Hope, which currently has 4.9M viewers and 1.9 in the 18-49 demo.

I don't get it.The second season actually gained viewers by the episode. The second season premiere had 6.5M viewers and the penultimate episode had 9.2 million viewers.Though the finale dropped to 8.1M, it only dropped 1M, and it still had over 1.5M viewers than it did at the start of the season.

@synister

Did you seriously compare Human Target to the Cape? I'm not sure you will have anything to say that is worth reading. Human Target had better writers, actors, and characters that you actually care about. It will be missed.

1st season left me not sure about whether I would even watch the second season, but I liked how the second season took off. It was good through the first half and then kind of fell flat from there. I would have watched a third season, but not going to lose any sleep over this.

Oh yeah.... this is FOX we're talking about... they FFFFFUUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKK EVERYTHING up. They're amongst the kinds of idiots that keep renewing shit shows like Jersey Shore.

@SynisterUrge, really? Then the ratings spoke otherwise than your mentality about it. They tried to dislodge the show by moving it around, yet it still raked in some pretty noticeable numbers. Not even close to what "The Cape" was when it declined.

Comparing it to "The Cape" meant that you didn't even get it at all as the facts and numbers between them are WAY off.

is anyone really surprised?

Arrested Development
Firefly
Family Guy

now this

Fox has become known for canceling awesome TV shows almost as much as they are known for making movies that suck.

And the Fox machine strikes again. They're like the Skynet that actual succeeds in terminating it's targets before they can rise in full power. Firefly, Dark Angel, Sarah Conner Chronicles, Titus, Arrested Development, Dollhouse, and now Human Target!

Metallica, i know it's still on the air, my point was that at one point, they cancelled it despite it being massively successful and critically acclaimed

Human Target... Serenity... even The Sarah Connor Chronicles... shows that develop a loyal fanbase typically get shelved to the Friday night graveyard, and eventually cancellation. Meanwhile, shows that slip in popularity (Glee comes to mind) continue to get a prime spot, buoyed by mIdol (not an unintentional typo, BTW), another show slipping in the ratings. I miss the days when Fox was a fledgling TV network that would have shows like Married With Children... and keep them. Way to go Fox. Your failure not only extends to the big screen, but the small screen as well... Just stick to news, and leave the entertainment to the pros.
