DC's Legends of Tomorrow launches in 2016 and focuses on time traveller Rip Hunter assembling a team of future legends to protect the time stream from the villainous Vandal Savage. Talking to EW, showrunner Phil Klemmer says that they're most definitely not the "Legends" the title implies at this point. "They’re screwups. Instead of tiptoeing through history, they’re plodding through it, leaving their footprints and fingerprints and constantly having to wonder whether they’re going to screw the future up rather than fix it… It’s going to be total madness." That's apparent from the concept art above, but just how much damage to the timeline will these guys do?
Well, it sounds like at least some of the team will actually use their trips through time to alter their fates, something some of the slightly more villainous members - Captain Cold and Heat Wave for example - will no doubt be taking advantage of. "Who can resist the urge to correct the past or to investigate the future?" Klemmer asks. "The idea of traveling through time has a caper quality to it, and that’s what we’re looking forward to. Yes, there will be the big ‘try to stop Vandal Savage’ [plot], but people will inevitably become diverted on their little side missions and when people are trying to fix their own timeline, that’s when you really start screwing things up."
