Legends of Tomorrow brought its seventh season to a close with one doozy of an hour that saw a number of major developments, none bigger than the introduction of a very popular DC hero.
While it wasn't exactly a well-kept secret, tonight's seventh season finale confirmed that fan-favorite Scrubs star Donald Faison has indeed joined the cast as the one-and-only Michael Jon Carter, a.k.a. Booster Gold.
Introducing himself as Mike, he proceeded to steal the Waverider before blowing up the Legends' time machine and escaping. However, he returned during the episode's closing moments and revealed that he was being arrested alongside the entire team for time crimes, setting the stage for season eight.
If the show is picked up for its eighth year, which seems highly probable based on the cliffhanger ending, Faison would join the main cast as a series regular.
Faison's introduction will undoubtedly infuse new life into the long-running series, but the Waverider will be without one of their longtime crew members as Nick Zano has departed the show. He made his debut as Nate Heywood in season two and appeared in 94 episodes, the fourth-longest running member of the cast. The door will likely remain open for a return down the line, but for now, Nate will be heading into the totem to live with Zari 1.0.
In other news, the Waverider may soon be getting an unexpected new traveler - once this whole jail thing is sorted - as it was revealed that Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) was pregnant with Ava's (Jes Macallan) baby. Hard to explain, but it has something to do with alien biology?
