The DC Films Universe may be light on the jokes, but next February, DC's television side is going to bring the funny with
Powerless, an all-new comedy series on NBC.
Earlier today, the network announced that the
Vanessa Hudgens-led series will make its long-awaited premiere on Thursday,
February 2 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The series, which received a positive reception at San Diego Comic-Con in July, centers around Hudgens' character, Emily Locke, an insurance adjuster that specializes in helping those affected by damage caused by superheroes during their many escapades. In addition to the former
High School Musical star, the series will also feature
Danny Pudi,
Alan Tudyk,
Christina Kirk, and
Ron Funches in series regular roles.
So, what do you guys think? Will you be tuning in? Sound off with your thoughts below!
In the first comedy series set in the universe of DC Comics, Vanessa Hudgens plays Emily, a spunky young insurance adjuster specializing in regular-people coverage against damage caused by the crime-fighting superheroes. But it's when she stands up to one of these larger-than-life figures (after an epic battle messes with her commute) that she accidentally becomes a cult "hero" in her own right… even if it's just to her group of lovably quirky coworkers. Now, while she navigates her normal, everyday life against an explosive backdrop, Emily might just discover that being a hero doesn't always require superpowers.
Powerless features:
Vanessa Hudgens as Emily Locke
Danny Pudi as Teddy
