As co-CEO of DC Studios, James Gunn will be doing more than serving as just an executive. He's already writing a new Superman movie (san Henry Cavill), and has now confirmed an unannounced DC TV show is among his other projects!
Peacemaker season 2 is still thought to be in the works despite the dawning of a new era with the DCU, so Gunn probably isn't referring to that. At the same time, the filmmaker is working on putting the finishing touches to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and is still in the midst of putting together a slate of projects we should learn more about later this month.
Your guess is as good as ours when it comes to which character will take centre stage in the series, but Gunn has previously said he and Peter Safran are creating a shared world that's going to encompass movies, TV shows, and video games.
There were once rumblings about The Suicide Squad writer and director developing small screen projects revolving around various members of Task Force X.
However, with Cavill ousted as the Man of Steel and even Dwayne Johnson no longer set to return as Black Adam, fans won't be happy if Gunn's cast gets to return amid reports even Gal Gadot is done as Wonder Woman! We're hoping the focus of this mystery show might be a character who is long overdue a live-action project, with countless possibilities on that front.
We still don't have a confirmed date for DC Studios' partial slate reveal or news on how many years that will encompass. Fingers crossed this series is among the projects we learn about later this month, though.
Which DC Comics character would you like this series to put the spotlight on?
