Despite roles in Glee and Whiplash, Melissa Benoist was a relative unknown before being cast as Supergirl. Since then, she's become a fan-favourite part of the DC TV Universe (particularly now that the show is on The CW), while also receiving praise for her role in Boston Marathon bombing drama Patriots Day . Now, the beautiful actress has posed for the New York Post (via Movie Hotties).
Talking to the publication recently, Benoist revealed that it actually took three months of auditions and dying her hair blonde in order for Supergirl producers to finally realise that she was the right fit for the role of the Girl of Steel. "I don't think of myself as that tough, kick-ass, badass woman," she admitted. "I've always been a pacifist, for one, and I was [always] weirder and quirkier and dorkier."
Supergirl is set to return on January 16th with the Kevin Smith helmed episode, "Supergirl Lives."
