The Flash (Grant Gustin) has seen his fate and the fate of billions, and now it's up to him to race against the clock to find a way to stop the imminent Crisis before it's too late.

Based on this new extended trailer, that looks to be a lot easier said than done.

The footage offers fresh looks at a number of returning faces, including Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp) and Nora Allen (Michelle Harrison), and also introduces new characters like Dr. Ramsey Russo (Sendhil Ramamurthy), a.k.a. Bloodwork, who will serve as one of this season's big bads.

Matching wits with The Thinker, who by season’s end had harnessed the powers of all twelve bus metas he created, stretched Team Flash to their limits, but with the help of some new allies, Barry Allen (aka The Flash) and company were able to put a stop to the Enlightenment and save Central City once again. However, with the arrival of Barry and Iris’ speedster daughter, Nora, who arrived from the future admitting to having made a “big mistake,” things are anything but status quo. Will parenthood be the challenge that finally slows The Flash down?

The Flash features:
Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash
Candice Patton as Iris West-Allen
Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost
Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon/Vibe
Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells
Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West
John Wesley Shipp as Henry Allen/Jay Garrick
Michelle Harrison as Nora Allen
Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West/Kid Flash
Violett Beane as Jesse Quick
Danielle Nicolet as Cecille Horton
Hartley Sawyer as Ralph Dibny/Elongated Man
Sendhil Ramamurthy as Dr. Ramsey Rosso/Bloodwork

The Flash returns with an all-new episode on October 8

A very dreadful trailer, but it is well put together.

Seems Jay catches Barry trying to go to the future and see what exactly they're up against in CoIEs. I bet it is then that he allows him to use his helmet to vibe (?) whatever ends up happening.

Since Barry is likely paying a visit to Earth-3 to meet Jay I bet the "Nora" that we see there isn't technically named by Barry's mother just like how Jay isn't "Henry" there.

Who was that lady villain with the mask?

Breacher is back. Maybe he also vibed one of the possible, doomed futures.

And I like how they haven't shown much of Bloodwork's endgame in this first half too.

@NinnesMBC -
This will be an interesting season, its for sure darker.

Seems like Jay might die.

Wonder if Nora's earth 3 Doppleganger will be Joan Garrick, if we ever got a good look at earth 3, I was hoping Amanda Pays would play Joan, but this is good.

@dracula - Hopefully not, I always want a bit more Jay around the show.

I was struggling to remember if this "Nora" could be named by Joan Garrick but it'd be a nice reveal if she is just a co-worker with Jay and Amanda Pays does show up later as Joan.

@NinnesMBC - True, with the multiverse ending they either need to retire the Harrison Wells character or establish 1 version of Wells that can stick around for multiple seasons. Id say bring back Harry, but he didn't get much to do last time he was brought back. If they retire him, how about depower Jay and have him become a series regular

To bad they didn't do an earth 3 episode sooner, would have loved to see an episode with John and Amanda as Jay and Joan, and maybe do that 90's flash rogue team up that they never got the chance to do, that was going to open the second season, reuniting David Cassidy, Mark Hamil and Michael Champion as Mirror Master, Trickster and Captain Cold.

@dracula - It'd be quite something if all of the Wells, even the ones from their Council, make a joint effort and end up sacrificing themselves to help them. They could try to keep around Sherloque and maybe the new Wells. If Harry goes I cross fingers Jesse is there, their scenes together are always good.

IMO rather have Jay's Earth be one of the casualties and that way he can stay around in Earth-1 with Barry.

I do hope they go back to using former S1 Rogues, it isn't too late yet to assemble the villain group.

@NinnesMBC - Would be great to see the classic rouges unite, but seems unlikely now. Captain Cold is dead, Heatwave is on Legends, Pied Piper is good. They should have stuck with their original plan last season, with Weather Wizard forming the Rogues with Ragdoll, could have brought back Golden Glider, introduce the second Captain Boomerang, use Axell Walker as Trickster, they could always introduce the second Miror Master if they dont want the season 3 version

I gotta say this but the way the flash runs in general has always bothered me... the faster you go the more you need to lean into the corners and flash for the most part is always depicted fairly vertical... his corners are kinda like pac man in a video game. they should be more fluid like the light cycles in tron.
The trail he leaves behind needs to rise and fall, weave and dodge more than what i see depicted.

this isn't the best example of what i am saying but the bikes are leaning into the corners and so are their trails... when they lean to butt other bikes the trails dip as well..
