While last week's episode saw Team Flash bid farewell to Nash and the Council of Wells, showrunner Eric Wallace promised it wasn't the last we'd seen of Tom Cavanagh, and tonight's bonus scene revealed exactly how the actor is sticking around when we were reintroduced to the real Harrison Wells!
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, star Grant Gustin teased that all may not be what it seems with this seemingly resurrected version of the original Wells.
"Well, there's kind of a twist there, too, like always when it comes to Wells. It's not like necessarily the real Harrison Wells, I guess. It has more to do with the particles that made up all of the Wellses now embodies this Harrison Wells. So, we're going to yet again see Tom do something slightly different than we've ever seen, and it is technically the real Harrison Wells but with a twist."
On another note, Barry's decision to rescue only Iris from the Mirrorverse had dire consequences, as the hour closed on a scene with his wife collapsing at his feet and convulsing uncontrollably, which is where next week's installment will pick up as Barry deals with the fallout from his decision.
Meanwhile, next week's episode will also see the return of Sue Dearbon (Natalie Dreyfuss), and her timing couldn't be any better as Team Flash will need all the help they can get when Eva (Efrat Dor) unleashes her army on Central City.
"Mother" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

Barry Allen lived a normal life as a perpetually tardy C.S.I. in the Central City Police Department. Barry's life changed forever when the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator exploded, creating a dark-matter lightning storm that struck Barry, bestowing him with superspeed and making him the fastest man alive - The Flash. After a thrilling cliffhanger last season which saw the new Mirror Master victorious and still-at-large in Central City, The Flash must regroup in order to stop her and find a way to make contact with his missing wife, Iris West-Allen. With help from the rest of Team Flash, which includes superheroes Caitlin Snow, Cisco Ramon, Ralph Dibny, and Nash Wells, as well as the Flash's adoptive father Joe West, Meta-Attorney Cecile Horton, tough cub reporter Allegra Garcia and brilliant tech-nerd Chester P. Runk... Flash will ultimately defeat Mirror Master. But in doing so, he'll also unleash an even more powerful and devastating threat on Central City: one that threatens to tear his team - and his marriage - apart.
The Flash returns with a brand new episode on March 16
