THE FLASH: It's A Full Blown Invasion In The New Promo For Season 7, Episode 3; "Mother"

After a pair of bombshells, next week's episode of The Flash will pick up immediately after the events of tonight's hour as Barry deals with the fallout from his Iris decision while Eva unleashes an army.

While last week's episode saw Team Flash bid farewell to Nash and the Council of Wells, showrunner Eric Wallace promised it wasn't the last we'd seen of Tom Cavanagh, and tonight's bonus scene revealed exactly how the actor is sticking around when we were reintroduced to the real Harrison Wells!

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, star Grant Gustin teased that all may not be what it seems with this seemingly resurrected version of the original Wells.

"Well, there's kind of a twist there, too, like always when it comes to Wells. It's not like necessarily the real Harrison Wells, I guess. It has more to do with the particles that made up all of the Wellses now embodies this Harrison Wells. So, we're going to yet again see Tom do something slightly different than we've ever seen, and it is technically the real Harrison Wells but with a twist."

On another note, Barry's decision to rescue only Iris from the Mirrorverse had dire consequences, as the hour closed on a scene with his wife collapsing at his feet and convulsing uncontrollably, which is where next week's installment will pick up as Barry deals with the fallout from his decision.

Meanwhile, next week's episode will also see the return of Sue Dearbon (Natalie Dreyfuss), and her timing couldn't be any better as Team Flash will need all the help they can get when Eva (Efrat Dor) unleashes her army on Central City.

"Mother" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

SUE DEARBON RETURNS - As Eva (guest star Efrat Dor) becomes more powerful, Barry (Grant Gustin) and team must find a way to stop her. They are shocked when an old friend - Sue Dearbon (guest star Natalie Dreyfuss) risks her life to help. David McWhirter directed the episode written by Eric Wallace & Kristen Kim (#703). Original airdate 3/16/2021.

Barry Allen lived a normal life as a perpetually tardy C.S.I. in the Central City Police Department. Barry's life changed forever when the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator exploded, creating a dark-matter lightning storm that struck Barry, bestowing him with superspeed and making him the fastest man alive - The Flash. After a thrilling cliffhanger last season which saw the new Mirror Master victorious and still-at-large in Central City, The Flash must regroup in order to stop her and find a way to make contact with his missing wife, Iris West-Allen. With help from the rest of Team Flash, which includes superheroes Caitlin Snow, Cisco Ramon, Ralph Dibny, and Nash Wells, as well as the Flash's adoptive father Joe West, Meta-Attorney Cecile Horton, tough cub reporter Allegra Garcia and brilliant tech-nerd Chester P. Runk... Flash will ultimately defeat Mirror Master. But in doing so, he'll also unleash an even more powerful and devastating threat on Central City: one that threatens to tear his team - and his marriage - apart.

The Flash returns with a brand new episode on March 16

I love how red his costume is. I wish Wanda had that same hint of red in her costume.

next week, the actual season 6 finale.

We know one of the next two arcs will be Godspeed, wonder who will be the other big bad. Season 6 was suppose to end with a cliffhanger involving the reverse flash, but doubt they would have 2 speedster villains in one season

Making Frosty a speedster is how you do "Because Speedforce" justice.

Episode was a wild ride, loved seeing Gustin play the calculating Barry, it was genuinely unnerving to see him like that, it shows you how much of a real menace he could be if he didn’t have his conscience. Also devastating bringing Iris out of the mirror world only to still end up in pain and mortal peril. Can’t wait to see the next episode.

Hope we get a new Captain Cold or Chillbane takes up his position as leader of the rogues (and is a good character) next season as a big bad as one of the arcs.

Glad they explored how Barry's powers can also boost his intellect. Gonna be interesting to see where this season goes after that reveal at the end.

@Roodi - I don't know how trustworthy this guy is but these are additional reactions. A couple of days ago he said some reactions were similar to BvS.

They need to bring Matt Letscher back, they brought him in as the focus of an episode once, showing his first encounter with the flash, but they seem to have forgotten about the years they have suppose to have faught him. After that they just keep bringing back post season 1 reverse flash.

Wonder when we will see that encounter with reverse flash that led to Barry running back in time to save his younger self. 150th episode? Final episode?

@dracula - isnt that the original flash before thawne messed with time?

@MrPositive - I guess but considering he had the encounter where Thawne met him for the first time, don't you think it would make sense for him to still encounter the younger Reverse Flash

@dracula - its true thawne is younger when he went to kill his mother so he should have met OG barry before he got stuck in this timeline

Good episode. I really liked the plot of Barry having super speed thinking. Don't really have any issues with this episode, was solid and well done. The Cecile subplot was pretty minor which was good, that was the weakest part of the last episode. Also, the speed enhanced Frost vs Barry fight was cool.

The final scene is very intriguing, so the OG Harry has been alive this whole time?
