Earlier this week, it was quietly revealed that
Riverdale had suspended production of its fourth season in Vancouver, Canada, after a "team member" was in contact with someone who later tested positive for Covid-19. Now, though, the impact is being felt even further than that as
The Flash has also suspended production on season six as of today.
We don't have any details beyond that, but
The 100 has also halted filming of its series finale.
Will other Warner Bros. TV shows be forced to do the same? Well,
Supernatural is currently in production on its penultimate episode, and the plan was for that to wrap its series finale in early April.
Supergirl, meanwhile, is currently shooting its season five finale, and
Batwoman is expected to also wrap filming its current season in the first few weeks of April.
Vancouver is used as a filming location for countless TV shows and movies, so if the Coronavirus has hit the area, it could be disastrous for a long list of current and upcoming productions.
According to
Deadline,
The Flash unit manager Brent Crowell has announced this shutdown "until further notice," and it's effective from today. What this means for the rest of the season is hard to say, but this is probably just one of many upcoming delays for some of our favourite TV shows!
We'll keep you guys updated as we learn more.
