GAME OF THRONES Adds THE BABADOOK's Essie Davis; Richard E. Grant's Role Revealed
The latest images from the Girona, Spain, set of the sixth season of HBO's Game Of Thrones reveals that Aussie actress Essie Davis (The Babadook, The Matrix sequels) has joined the cast in a key role. Plus, we now know who Richard E. Grant will be playing...
As filming for Game of Thrones season 6 continues in Girona, Spain, some revealing new set snaps from in and around the public theatre have unearthed some interesting casting details. We already knew this next season would feature a troupe of actors for several key scenes, and it seems they'll be performing a play-within-the-show as some very familiar faces.
As you can see, Babadook star Essie Davis is dressed as Cersei Lannister, while Richard E. Grant's lead actor (possibly an incarnation of Izembaro, the King of the Mummers, from the books) seems to be taking the role of her late husband, Robert Baratheon. Exactly what role this troupe will play in the plot remains to be seen, but judging from the final image it's a safe bet Arya (Maisie Williams) will be involved!
Game Of Thrones returns to HBO early next year.
