GAME OF THRONES: Season 5 Episodes 5 - 7 Titles Revealed

In less than 3 weeks the fifth season of HBO's Game Of Thrones will kick off, and we now know what some more of the episodes will be called. There's no synopses unfortunately, but let's see if we can determine what these eps will focus on based on the titles alone.

We already have the titles of the first 4 episodes of Game of Thrones season 5 ("The Wars To Come", "The House Of Black and White", "High Sparrow", and "The Sons Of The Harpy") and now thanks to GeeklyInc we know what the next 3 will be called.

Season 5, Episode 5: Kill the Boy

Season 5, Episode 6: Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken

Season 5, Episode 7: The Gift

The first title would seem to be referencing the phrase "kill the boy and let the man be born", which is frequently part of Jon Snow's internal monologue throughout A Dance With Dragons. Chances are this ep will focus on Jon, but of course there might be a double meaning there -- this being Game Of Thrones we might also literally see a boy killed! "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken" is the motto of House Martell, so it's a safe bet this is the episode the Sand Snakes (bastard daughters of the late Prince Oberyn) will be introduced in. Finally, The Gift is a region controlled by the Night's Watch which lies to the south of the Wall so this will likely be another Jon-centric episode, unless Sam of another of his comrades set out on their own for whatever reason. Again, don't be surprised if "The Gift" holds some other significance too

Game Of Thrones returns to our screens on April 12.

"The Gift" could also refer to the gift of the many-faced god, so we might be getting another Arya-centric episode.
Finishing off A Dance With Dragons now :p

Game of Thrones is amazing.

it somehow makes me feel sympathetic for every character.

I even got excited for Ramsey Snow when he won the approval of his father and he was a sick [frick].

Arya is my favorite character. Her and See Davis Seaworth.

I'm currently re-watching this entire series, and I'm amazed at how much they made you just want to reach into your TV and strangle Joffrey to death. That little shit...

Does anybody know when the spinoff show "Arya kills everyone who [frick]ed with the Starks" starts?

I hope soon. Cuz let's be honest - THAT'S the only story that really matters 😃

I'm waiting for the episode when Arya hops onto one of the Dragons and rains fire down upon all along with The Imp and The Bastard.

It's pretty obvious that Euron and Victorian Greyjoy aren't in this @capn. Pity yes, but they aren't that valuable to the overall story. I see why they and for example also Quentyn and Griff were left out.

I only just got up to reading A Dance with Dragons, so this is pretty much the first time I've been able to read the episode titles of an upcoming season and actually know the plot points ahead of time haha.

VAGUE SPOILERS, LOOK AWAY IF SQUEAMISH

Kill the Boy - Jon Snow centric. A certain execution will most likely take place in this episode too.

Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken - I'd hope the Sand Snakes would've already been introduced by this point, so hopefully this is just their first episode that's fully about them.

The Gift - another episode up at the Wall. You can bet Stannis and the Wildlings are involved here.

@Nomis1800 @capn it's possible they are being held back until season 6. I reckon they just thought introducing the Dornish and the Iron-islanders in one season would be too much for the casual viewer. Victarion is one of my fave characters, so hopefully this is the case!
datNAMEtho
datNAMEtho - 3/23/2015, 6:51 AM
@cronnyberg, but why in season 6? The point of Victarion is that SPOILERS: he sets sail for Meereen to marry Daenerys... If Daenerys already leaves Meereen at the end of this season, I don't see much use to Victarion's storyline.

Besides, does it really matter that the Greyjoys don't have bigger roles in the overall story? Theon/Reek has his own part which is pretty neat if done well this season. Don't know what they're planning to do with Yara though. I just don't see the use of including Euron and Victarion in the overall story. Introducing even more new characters next season...

@Nomis1800

"but they aren't that valuable to the overall story"

FOR [frick] SAKE. WHY do people keeping saying this about aspects of the story? It irriates me because it has no logic. You do not have a time machine and you do not know how the story ends therefore so proclaiming that Euron/Victarion mean nothing is stupid to say the least. This dogma of whatever D&D cut therefore makes it irrelevant in the story is flawed. D&D are the irrelevancies as far as GRRM's story is concerned. Merely because a character like Euron is cut does not make him of no importance, it merely means they may find some strange way of giving everything he does someone else or still arriving at the same conclusion without out a madman like Euron with a dragon binded to his will causing chaos.

They haven't done the Reek arc. Not by any means. That unnecessary stuff in season 3 was meaningless and so far we've merely had Moat Cailin. If you dismiss the entire Reek/Theon arc of ADWD already perhaps reread it considering there is far more left past Moat Cailin. Five chapters actually, not including his TWOW preview one.

I don't know why, but I have the strangest feeling in episode 5 that the boy will die.
datNAMEtho
datNAMEtho - 3/23/2015, 2:47 PM
@Klone whoa calm down.

I think there are more aspects to it. First is, no time for even more new characters to introduce. We're already getting quite some new characters from Dorne. Having them being mostly the new characters brings a bit more focus to them imo. Second, yes they could be less important to the overall story, so far. Victarion could still try to marry Daenerys at some point which would also sorta mean Daenerys has the Ironborn behind her. We'll just have to wait and see how it turns out this season and what's going to happen next season since... We simply don't know.
Klone
Klone - 3/23/2015, 4:01 PM
@Nomis1800

We do not, hence I dislike the presumptions this and that is not needed.

New characters in Dorne? Ah, Trystane. Yes. Methinks there is some nepotism going on there considering the One Direction reject is Turner's bitchling and he's been given new scenes and all. Eh, maybe he is Young Griff, whatever. For now it looks like the writers bending to the actors, which they have done before with Dance, Dormer and Riggs.
