Massive (Potential) GAME OF THRONES Season 4 SPOILER

Massive (Potential) GAME OF THRONES Season 4 SPOILER

After the blood soaked events of Sunday's episode, we've decided to let you in on a little spoiler from George R.R. Martin's books. We don't know for certain if this will actually play out in the show, but it's a pretty safe bet. Read on if you're a spoiler-hound..

Obviously anyone who's read past book 3 in the Song Of Ice And Fire saga will know this already, but if you thought you'd seen the last of Catelyn Stark when she had her throat cut at the end of episode 9 of HBO's Game Of Thrones season 3, think again!

Catelyn did not survive such a mortal wound of course, but as we know, there are those in Westeros with the power to resurrect the dead -- Thoros of Myr being one of them. It turns out that Thoros and the rest of the Brotherhood Without Banners happen upon the aftermath of the massacre at The Twins. With Thoros' help Beric Dondarrion is somehow able to give his own life to the "Red God" in exchange for Catelyn's, raising her from the dead and making her the new leader of The Brotherhood. Zombie Catelyn can barely speak (a throat slicing will do that) and sports gruesome scars down her face from where she raked her own skin with her nails after Robb is killed in front of her (this does not happen in the show though). Calling herself "Lady Stoneheart", Catelyn makes it her mission to track down any Frey -- whether they were directly involved in the Red Wedding or not - and hang them. She is only introduced right at the end of book 3, and actually doesn't get a lot to do in either of the succeeding novels. So far, Stoneheart's most notable act is capturing Brienne -- who is now travelling with Tyrion's former squire Podrick -- and threatening to hang them if they don't track down Jamie Lannister and bring him to the Brotherhood for judgement.

Actress Michelle Fairley has stated that she's definitely finished up on the show, so it's not certain that HBO will go this route. But although she doesn't play a major part in the story so far, Stoneheart will no doubt factor in heavily in the two final books -- so I can't imagine the showrunners would leave her out of the tv adaptation altogether. Perhaps we'll find out as soon as next week!

[frick] GoT bastards nearly gave me an heart attack when Arya showed up at the Twins I though she was done for. And Damn the last shot of Fairley was a killer. The woman was long dead before her throat was slit.

Why her and not Rob?

I did not see that coming. I love this show.

Really? Telling us random spoilers from the book that may or may not happen in the show makes the main page? What's next you gonna tell us who's gonna die next too?

@Starkasm: Her body is thrown in the river and Beric finds it downstream. Robb was strung up on display so wasn't available to be revived. Plus, even if they could I don't think they would want to revive Rob back after what they are about to do to his corpse...

This is pretty cool. But If Cat becomes a zombie when she's resurrected, how come Beric didn't after he died fighting the Hound?

Jodez99, how is this a "random" spoiler? It's directly tied in to the events of the last ep, which we've all been discussing on here since it aired. Stop looking for something to whine about and either contribute to the conversation of don't.
Jodez99
Jodez99 - 6/5/2013, 4:37 AM
There's lots of events that directly ties in to the events of this episode. This is random because it hasn't been hinted at in a preview or by the producers or the actress herself or anything. It's just something that you know from the books. Stop abusing your mod powers to post whatever you want on the main page.

MarkCassidy - 6/5/2013, 4:46 AM
lol, right so So if it had been hinted at in a preview, then I wouldn't be "abusing my mod powers" by posting? You're off your head mate. I'm posting because I know there is a lot of interest in this particular ep, and that many people that haven't read the books will still be keen to know how events will likely transpire..not everyone hates spoilers.

YOU NEVER KNOW...THE SHOW DIVERGES FROM THE BOOKS IN WAYS..HECK THE RED WEDDING WAS MORE GRAPHIC THAN THE SHOW, SHE DINT RAKE HER FACE, HECK WE ALL SAW THAT PLAIN AS DAY THAT EPISODE. SO WHO KNOWS. SURPRISES MAKE FOR GOOD RATINGS...

Cheers dude. I wanna read the books but I dont want to spoil the show at the same time

Look I haven't got a problem with spoilers for the show, what I do have a problem with is that at this point in time there's zero indication that Lady Stoneheart will be in the show. If it was hinted at in a preview or something it would've made sense to make this article but it wasn't. Look at the main page, we've got Winter Soldier and Spider-Man set pics, we've got Man of Steel tv spots and interviews, some comic book previews and then this article where one mod just randomly decided to post a spoiler from the books.

They can't use Rob, they cut off his head and sew the head of his Direwolf on as a mockery to the Starks. Some zombie walking around with a Wolf head would just look silly. :oP

Mark, just a piece of advice... i would take out the picture. A lot of people have only seen the series... and the picture is showing on FB. Some pretty pissed

it not that big of a spoiler. now if it mention that shit killed one of the top lannisters yoooooo that would've been a big spoiler.

Dammit, thanks for the heads up phoenixforce9. I didn't realize that pic was showing up as the FB thumbnail..it's been removed.

Yes, and? Should we better coordinate our posts to suit you then? You don't know what you have a problem with, you're just moaning for the sake of it.

You guys need to read more. I wasn't shocked last week since I had already read the book, but I will say they did an excellent job acting it all out! I still shed a tear for the Starks, but got a sinister grin once the episode was over...for I know what's coming up next week!

MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

If they don't do Lady Stoneheart than GoT showrunners wussed out big time. I'm sure she'll show up, but probably at the end of Season 4 as a lead into Season 5.
wcwpoet
wcwpoet - 6/5/2013, 6:09 AM
And as far as Martin staying ahead of the books that's done with he's caught after next season. Because season's 5 & 6 will be merging books 4 & 5. And as slow as Martin right's I still don't he'll have the sixth book out by then. So that's going to be even more exciting for the book writers because we'll get to see things that haven't been touched on yet. Martin did at least tell them how he planned to to end the series.

I didn't like the whole Lady Stoneheart business in the books. Catelyn got a good ending, and losing a character like Beric Dondarrion off-screen only to get her back as a revenge zombie wasn't to my liking. Now I'm unhappy whatever happens with the character - I don't want her to have large role because I dislike her, but if she doesn't have a large role her whole resurrection was pointless.

This is just a spoiler from the book and is in no way news. If you find out her contract has been renewed after all or something like that, then you have something to write about.

And yeah, I have to agree that there is not much of a point to this article at this time. :/

Never said it was news, it's clearly marked as DUN DUN DUUUUN: a spoiler from the book. Am I in the Twilight Zone?

On one hand, people moaning about spoilers is beyond ridiculous. YOU CHOSE TO OPEN THE WEBPAGE AND READ IT!
However, this is pretty insulting to post considering everything. The Starks JUST died, there are probably more people who watch the series and dont read the books, and the pure speculation from book with no actual production ties whatsoever (nor will there be for quite some time) makes this not only a weak post, but a pretty shitty thing to do. Should throw this in editorials
Hellsing
Hellsing - 6/5/2013, 7:24 AM
You wanna spoil the whole series to me no problem reading and watching are 2 very different things, its easier to get forget the scene I just read but the [frick]ing image of Cats face after she slits Frey's wifes throat is just harrowing and then her throat gets slit and cut to black. That shit don't go away it gets embedded inside of your brain. So by all means spoil away.

And she is not a zombie. She was revived just like Beric, only not as quickly. For reasons I will not spoil she has endured some "damage" And will have some limitations that Beric hasn't.

I still don't understand the point of following Lady Stonehart. The Brotherhood Without Banners went from being a group dedicated to protecting the weak and unaffiliated in the Riverlands during War of Five Kings under Dondarrion's command to operating as Stonehart's personal hitsquad.

If they don't bring her in the show will be a huge disappointment.

This is why being someone born in the 70's and raised then and in the 80's was so much better than being born and raised today...we didn't have the internet, shitter (oh excuse me, twitter) and facebook and all other social media to spoil every frickin show on TV!!! Thanks to all this social media, a person can't even enjoy a show without knowing what's going to happen ahead of time or hearing about it on their phone. Back then, you only heard about it from word of mouth, and if you missed it, you missed it. You weren't even able to see it again, not like today where you can record it or stream it, if you didn't have a VCR, or download it. Now I've read all 5 books and knew this was coming, but for those who didn't read it have to live with the temptation of coming here or going to sites where people will give away everything about the show ahead of time. I'm not one for spoilers myself, but if it involves something I already know then i'll check it out, but when something like this is posted, the ending of a show NOT even filmed yet(even though it is the ending of a book, but just gave away the ending of the book and spoiled it for those who may want to read the book) is a little ridiculous. A word of advice to the writers of this website...enough of the spoilers to ruin it for others, especially one of this magnitude.

Now I know some are going to say, hey dangle, if you don't want to read it, move on, but I like this site for other info about upcoming CBM movies, but don't like when a story like this is written.
