SPOILERS: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Comments On Last Night's Blistering Episode Of GAME OF THRONES

Last night's incredibly exciting installment of Game of Thrones ended with plenty of fire and blood, and here Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) sheds some light on what occurred with his character...

Last night's episode of Game of Thrones culminated in the Lannister forces being decimated by dragon-fire, and the fate of one main character in particular left up in the air... or, more accurately, at the bottom of a river.

Jaime Lannister foolishly charged towards Dany and Drogon in an attempt to end the war with one thrust of his spear, and only narrowly escaped incineration thanks to a last-minute save by Bronn (that's two castles you owe him, Kingslayer).

In the final shot, Jaime certainly seemed to succumb to his watery fate - but actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau refused to clarify one way or the other during an interview with EW. However, one thing he did reveal is that the episode’s script direction told the actors, “One of our main characters is about to die."

Take from that what you will, but I don't think anyone really believes that this is the last we've seen of Jaime fookin' Lannister.

@ChemicalGhost - I thought he was gonna get it, bumbling around in all that fire. But once it went on for more than a couple minutes I fig'd he was probably going to escape somehow.

That direction isn't necessarily predictive. It just means it looks like someone's about to die, they're playing a dangerous game of chicken. Jaime definitely isn't dead, Bronn might be. Game of Thrones is being a bit blatant with its plot armor this season, but it's not like I want Jaime to die at this point, so I'm okay with it.

Some of the best writing i've seen on TV. Granted it's another animal with HBO, but jesus this show is just so good. Going to be so sad when it ends, just so damn epic.

@R3dRUM - what's funniest is that Robert pretty much called it right, even without drogon lannister would've been into a hiding against dothraki cavalry. Mate have the gold but they don't have food now after the BBQ.

Out of all the killing no Dothraki saw Bron on that big ass crossbow or Jamie strutting around on his big white horse? I was really wanting to see one of these guys get it. I can't stand the fookeen Lannisters. That being said, Cersi will come out on top this season...

Calling the person who dies next episode a main character is a bit of a stretch

I think this is the season that Baelish finally bites it. He's now got 3 Starks and Jon Snow that want him dead.
